Panda (Classic) a car called olive

Introduction

hello all

Decided this car needed a thread. this is my second panda after the original pepe was sold 6 months ago. i just couldn't keep away from these awesome little cars :slayer:
the car even came with the name "olive" and was bought from a forum member

the good:
twin sunnys which don't leak
personally love the color
tidy bodywork unlike pepe1
engine seems sound
mot till jun/july
everything seems to work
did i mention the twin sunnys?

the bad:
both doors showing the dreaded ferrous oxide
drivers side sill has a small hole
interior is err, well, wait and see...
brakes need servicing - parts arrived this morning
wing mirrors and grill need sorting.

so, here are some pics

i <£ sunnys :worship:

future plan:
sort brakes
sort interior
lower it?
punto engine?

nice little panda colour that.
i'd just fix up the small faults.

lowering to me does not really seem to do much besides make the ride more hard on the old spine and cause the exhaust mid section to hit the floor and rust through.

it will already have an injected engine.. you dont need to upgrade :p :D

fixing brakes is a must.. never skip out on brakes.

im not sure what bits you are after interior wise.. if you ca be a little more descriptive i may have the bits you need..

also what is that on the side of the transmission tunnel plastics?

GREEN paint!!!! I'm hazarding a guess the interior parts will be all the lurid green bits, and probably a grey radio holder section since that seems to be black.
Hmmm, twin sunnys Colour in what can only be described as 'Fiat 301 verde' unless I'm very much mistaken, small hole in the drivers sill, grill in need of sorting.... I find myself strangely all deja vu there;)

So you bought the other one out the classifieds then(y)

In fact I'll wager that there paint on the grill, mirrors and interior would be 'ah that looks right on the internet!' colour coded 301/A Verde Polinesia;) I mean who makes that mistake!! (although mix in a bit of blue and it's pretty close for touch ups.) Hint: If you want to have a go at toning the grill and mirrors down a bit get down to Halfords and get them to mix Fiat 301 paint for you and make sure they know it's the Panda specific variant! Don't try and buy it online, the paint codes are all wrong, there's a whole different Fiat 301 used on other models and this one never seems to show up!
I'll be watching progress with interest since I seem to have stalled a bit with mine.(y)

just started raining so i decided to come in from bleeding the brakes and wright a late response.

thanks for all the comments people.
firstcar-Y10, your car is lovely, been reading its thread last night.

i am now half way through bleeding the brakes and yesterday i fitted new disks and pads. feels much better already. handbrake was an advisory on the mot also but the shoes have loads of meat remaining so i think i will get away with just adjusting it.

interior wise im looking for all the plastics in black (bar the radio surround). also need a new front hammock as the current one has had some glue and water damage. looks like someone wanted to cover it in some of that felt like plastic :bang: i think that and some door cards im gonna make up myself with perhaps some seats from another car and it will be sorted.

not sure what it is on the side of the gear stick surround but it looks like a mount for something. odd place to fit it is all.

on the subject of the exterior, ive always sorta liked the idea of getting the wing mirrors from a 100hp and making them fit. if i get all the controls i should be able to make them fully functional. i once saw a shot of a panda on you-tube with it done, and its something that's always taken my fancy. i can solder and have played around with guitar effect pedal electronics so hopefully i can make it work. anyway that's for the future. ill look for a front grill first.

on another note, i keep noticing that the rear of that car is always quite high up. sort of like its been lowered at the front. i know its had two new rear sprigs. could these just need settling in or is it more likely the car has the wrong springs.

Glad to see she made the journey okay!
Some great plans for her too!
I miss her already...

With regards to this part btw, the guy who had it before me put a LOT of aftermarket mods on, this mount was for some aftermarket heater fans, they were a bit rubbish so I took them off! This is why there are a few screw-holes in the dash too.

The screw holes on the dash by the hazard light/rear screen/foglight button were from a little aftermarket clock, the guy who had it before me obviously couldn't work out how to change the time on the radio :p

Give me a shout if you need any info, I'll try my best to help!

I wish I had a friend with a Unimog.

- Anyone got a Unimog and want a friend/Unimog stalker?

I'am sure he wouldn't mind. the starter motor gave up on Thursday in the middle of a muddy field. i spent all of yesterday fixing it with him. fantastic vehicle really. his one has 8 forward/reverse gears with low range and 3 way tipping body! :slayer:

I see you are from east sussex way, great to see another parade down here!
Great colour too :p
