Grande Punto 2nd car, 1.9 mjet sporting in orange ;)

Introduction

After telling myself I was not going to get another Fiat I went and got an orange mjet with 57k on the clock, in perfect condition too!

So far, I've only transferred over my TH window deflectors, I've got a few plans so far though:

-Rear 3 windows tinted professionally.
-Alloys refurbished in anthracite. (the stock alloys are too good to replace!)
-Paint the calipers orange, will look nice with 4 calipers and not just 2 :p
-baseless grille, black or anthracite vinyl behind the number plate as usual :)
-new head unit and use the sub from my old car, edge 2 x 12 inch

Then that's it for looks I think, after that I want to look at some performance mods.

-speaking with gsr to have an induction kit made for it, mainly for turbo noise but maybe some better pick up when the car is mapped.
-forge fmic for the tjet, maybe spray an orange forge logo onto it too.
-double decat, midbox and backbox removed, for a nice noise.
-egr delete.
-then a minor service before a remap which I plan to get done at West Yorkshire tuning, great lad that does a good job.

Any ideas or suggestions on what I should do please mention :)

very cheap for a diesel decat!

noticed it smoking more or anything?

Nope not one bit, only time the car smokes is when it gets a big hit of millers diesel cleaner (can smell it a mile off)

Plus fitting, like £30-40!! for another tenner you could of had a solid built one shaped to fit with no welds with lifetime warranty, buy cheap pay twice butu guys know best

If mine splits ill go to the local stainless exhaust place and get them to make their own instead :p

Okay so a few updates I'm a bit of a sheep and done the usual audi style front, not to mention the custom reg is now on :) 1406720823688.jpg

Abarth headlights, was going to get some fk projectors but I decided to stick with a more oem look and I also wanted the light height adjusters to work since they don't with aftermarket lights. This also means I'm using halogen bulbs instead of hid's like on the old GP and I've gone for some osram night breaker limited editions, best halogen bulb imo

Also the 3 rear tints with legal fly eye tint on the rear lights

Got lots of plans in the future, if my claim comes through there should be a new intercooler setup, lowering springs, exhaust tip raised, maybe some body work such as a rear diffuser, and I'd like some sort of drl s instead of the useless foglights :)

Can't remove the double photos on phone sorry

Putting this here more so as a sort of service history for when I come to sell the car in a couple years, I'll send the owner this thread and they can see all servicing and such and it's date :p going to change the oil with castrol edge 5w40 which is the best imo, and the gearbox oil with millers trx 75w80 as recommended by opie oils for the m32 box. Planning on changing the box oil yearly / 10k miles at the most and the engine oil every 5 - 8k miles. 1407157777487.jpg

Nice car! I've got a similar one :)

Was just wondering what you used behind the front number plate to make it black?

Opie told me to use fuchs titan sinto, but that was for a mapped car???

He recommended titan as the no1 box oil for the m32 but there was an offer on the trx and he said its still a very good oil. When I next change the oil I'll be going for the titan definitely. Previous owner had recently replaced the oil about 4k ago with oem stuff and it came out runny and brown

I went to a place that did my window tints that also do car and dash wrapping and they did it no problem, I'd get a local wrapping place to do it it's very fiddly to do

Little update, got the braces fitted although i had to get the exhaust lifted near the small brace lucky for me it was free, also had to put a few washers on to lower it a bit. Makes a big difference imo well worth it.

Forgot to mention the car is now mapped running 175bhp i would put the torque down but ive lost the printout, im going back soon anyway for a few tweaks maybe push it a bit harder too but the turbo is on it's limit.

Next on the list:

-65k service with Fuchs Titan Race Pro S, and Fuchs sintofluid for the gearbox.

-Either take the inlet manifold off and clean it out since the I've blanked the egr and had it mapped closed too. Only makes sense to clean all the existing **** out, or just use some whyms egr cleaner and get most of it out.

-Hybrid turbo build, at just under 1k it will be a while yet :( Then get it mapped in.

-Maybe get the gearbox bearings shimmed or just get new ones that arnt tighter than insert joke here.

-Forge intercooler with silicone pipework

After that I think some lowering springs if I feel like it then I can't think of much more to do tbh, very happy with the car atm it's in perfect condition and runs better than new.

That is a unique color!

R Thought I'd put a couple pics up of the mjet after a good clean consisting of dettol apc to remove all wax layers, then a once over with a carbon collective clay mitt which is such a good product, then sealed in platinum paint, wheels and glass. Then a layer of detail spray.

The paint seal is really good, and leaves a great glossy shine, the wheel seal is good but tbh I still find the wheels need a good scrub to keep clean, not exactly effortless like they described it. The glass seal is good and sheets water really well but if you don't apply it perfect you get horrible streaks when it gets wet, and my inside window seems to fog up a lot more too 1411916871164.jpg

Lovely car. How much did you pay for this when you bought it if you don't mind me asking? Might be on my list as my 2nd car.
