Panda Yet another 100HP

Introduction

He's home. (y)

Only just got back, so this is a rush. The lightest clutch and steering wheel in the world. I haven't tried sport yet.

It is a little bouncy, but not that hard... However, those bloody brick speedbumps that are outside my house are a nightmare. I have to drive over them at 1MPH.

The sub doesn't do anything until the EQ is in 'Rock' then it gets a bit loud. :D

Tiny mirrors are very very tiny.

I'm working tomorrow afternoon, he must be washed and polished before I show him off. :p
Stupid bloody car.
Just ended up going backwards around a roundabout. I wasnt going fast, but wet roundabout, standing water and maybe because I lifted off.

The guy behind had the cheek to give me a 'slow down' motion. :p

Anyway, I'm fine the cars fine and no-one else involved.
Glad to hear that the car and, more importantly, you are both okay :).

Which of Hull's delightful roundabouts did this little incident occur on :p? Also, what tyres have you got on the back of your 100HP? I've only ever made mine lift-off oversteer once, and I was "making progress" on an empty road in the Peak District, oops .

Roundabout outside Hop Pole in Willerby, I have Hankook's which were new last May.

It's not fun to be eye-to-eye with the guy in the car behind you. :D

I got my Nexus 6 today, so I bought a CD mount.

Nice unit - would have liked to compare to my Nexus 7 which is going strong after 2.5 years of decent usage.

Screen size not much smaller. Price..........hmmm

Wow you must be a crap driver, I've driven mine like a loon and never even come close to losing it...:D

How old are your tyres and what make are they? What tyre pressures are you using?
With new Uniroyal rainsports, going enthusiastically around a roundabout causes understeer on the wet, lifting off just stops the understeer, this car has no lift-off oversteer unfortunately :(

Fpan..did you fit 50 profile rainsports? Thinking of fitting them to mine. How do they affect the ride? Do they soften it slightly over poor road surfaces?

While the 100hp may have supreme handling in certain scenarios ( fast sweeping 40-50mph bends?) it is not a fun 'roundabout' car , the 1.1 IS ! ( Its not reassuring at very high speeds either :-( ) It's tracking constantly going out of whack certainly doesn't help . Nor does bad 'heel and toeing' position or jerky brakes ...

My 100HP on Dunlop 195/50 summers loves roundabouts:confused: Even on 185/60 Vredestein winters I outperform a lot of others on the roundabouts.
If you experience problems@15 Mph, there must be something seriously wrong.

2.4/2.5 bar F/R are my pressures.

gr J:confused:

Again today, at 15MPH on a wet roundabout and the car thinks it's a 200sx. It didn't spin, but you definitely feel it wanna go.

In all seriousness that's not normal, I've thrown mine in to roundabouts and bends in the wet and it never felt like it was coming unstuck, you've either got dodgy tyres or something is amiss in the suspension department.

I must have a different breed of 100hp to you then as mine feels supremely stable at high speeds, I've also just had the tracking checked for winter and despite the beating it takes every day on rubbish B roads it was spot on.
I have found that using OEM track rod ends and bushes etc helps as some aftermarket suspension parts might as well be made of cheese.

Lucio, I stayed with the OEM 45 profile as I love the feel/handling and didn't want to risk spoiling it.

If I buy winter tyres I will either go 195/50/15 or 185/55/15.

Mine has as much grip around roundabouts as my previous Forester STi, it is great not having to brake at roundabouts and seeing other cars disappearing in the rear view mirror :D

The pedals are not positioned for heel and toeing I agree, and the brakes are indeed overassisted and not linear, you "get used to it" but it's something I would like to improve if possible, not sure how.

I prefer to be able to modulate the brakes myself.
