Panda Yet another 100HP

Introduction

He's home. (y)

IMAG1141.jpg

Only just got back, so this is a rush. The lightest clutch and steering wheel in the world. I haven't tried sport yet.

It is a little bouncy, but not that hard... However, those bloody brick speedbumps that are outside my house are a nightmare. I have to drive over them at 1MPH.

The sub doesn't do anything until the EQ is in 'Rock' then it gets a bit loud. :D

Tiny mirrors are very very tiny.

I'm working tomorrow afternoon, he must be washed and polished before I show him off. :p
This was 19.9 miles in to work one morning last week. :)

Very little waiting in traffic, though, and most of it is 50/60mph.

If I'm not going to be holding anyone up behind me I'll tend to do 50 in the 60 areas, it makes bugger all difference in the time taken but gives a good improvement on the mpg.

Maintaining (not adding) speed when going up banks, adding speed when going down banks, gentle acceleration... buying a sportier car with an mpg meter has made me in to a slower driver :p

I haven't tried to drive it eco-style, I don't drive everywhere at max revs either. I just try and drive it normally, which means the air con is usually on as is the sport button. (y)

Sport is on, the horribly laggy acceleration without it is nasty... I can smoothly accelerate myself to save fuel if I want to, instead of being forced by the ECU.

AC would be on if it worked, bah! It was regassed at F1 this time last year, and has stopped since - the clutch never engages via the system, though it will click on if I bypass the relay with the engine off (I'm not going to force the system to actually run like that and risk damage). I've yet to get a professional to take a look.

I never consider my MPG, it's going to be pretty crap whatever I do, so I just enjoy the car for what it is and leave the climate control on all the time. Overall, I end up getting about 35mpg in Hull and about 40mpg at home. I make no effort to improve either of those figures.

If I wanted good MPG, I would not have bought a 100HP; I would have bought something boring...like a small diesel VAG-box.

This is true. :)

I do enjoy driving my 100HP too, but I also enjoy seeing what kind of MPG I can wring out of it; and seeing how much I can save by doing so (£70-80 per month, with my commute).

No FES/MES available? It'll tell you wether pressure is too low (leak) or too high (overfilled or a faulty sensor) Changing the sensor (near the condensor) is no rocketscience.
My Sportbutton sometimes resets itself. First time it did this I thought something must be broken:D

I have a bluetooth canbus/diagnostic adapter, which works with torque on my phone, but it doesn't report any error codes. Fiatecuscan can communicate with it, but not read anything out, possibly due to it being a clone of the ELM chip.

If I changed the pressure sensor myself anything in the system would come out when I unscrewed it, which would require someone else to refill it anyway. :p

Saw a grey one at the top of Greenwood on Friday, it might have been @adz83 it was filthy.

Yesterday I saw a 60 plate grey down Newland Ave, I got to work and someone who I work with, saw an old bloke driving one down Holderness road.

They're everywhere.

I don't think i went that way on Friday, mine is pretty dirty though lol

There's some kind of valve where the sensor goes, so loss is minimal.
Just be quick.

I wasn't expecting that - kinda like a tyre valve? I may give it a try, access can just about be gained via the left (from the front) fog lamp. Though I'm expecting a stone to have punctured the condenser instead.

I played fuel light bingo too much and I was desperate, I had two choices Tesco or Total, now Tesco's fuel is basically dishwater (To the people who are about to say "Oh, it's the same... I've seen the refinery, it's the same just rebranded!!!") ********, the Parade and 100 might as well get towed by a donkey. The cars never run right on Tesco fuel.

So, I had to go Total which was 4p more than other supermarkets (They are £1.22-ish, but ok.) It was rammed, but this one pump is empty.
 £1.42 a litre for Total Ultimate Nitro Super Torque Ron Xtreme 97, or whatever the hell it was called.

Maybe it was the high octane fumes, or maybe petrol leaked into my cuts that the 100 is mysteriously leaving in my fingers. (n) But, the car seems to pick up a bit earlier. Which is a shame, because this is not going to happen at every fill-up.

Wow, that's even more expensive that V-power Nitro.

I was thinking of trying V-power but don't want to for the same reason as you.

Mind you the car is mapped for RON95 so the extra octanes are not going to anything in theory.

I would be curious to know if you have better fuel consumption.

I don't know about the regulal Tesco UL but my previous car (turbocharged) ran as well on Tesco99 as it did on V-power.

Stupid bloody car.
Just ended up going backwards around a roundabout. I wasnt going fast, but wet roundabout, standing water and maybe because I lifted off.

The guy behind had the cheek to give me a 'slow down' motion. :p

Anyway, I'm fine the cars fine and no-one else involved.
