Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto MK2b

Introduction

Hi everyone,
Its not the first time I've showed off a new Fiat on this forum! I used to have a poor little '99 Seicento Sporting Abarth but its was pretty toast.. So now I've got a new baby, its newer and bigger...
A MK2b '03 Punto Active Sport 1.2 8v.. I've driven it once so far and I'm already hooked.. just can't get enough of these little Italian cars!

Regards,
Rhys
Another big update to my Punto today!!

Something I've loved ever since I laid eyes on it in a HGT...the centre console!

So I ordered one a while back, and it took 2 weeks to show up, but now it's here and it's in, looking great.

I just followed the instructions in my trusty Haynes manual and the old one came out like a dream. Then refitting the HGT one was just a lot guesswork and adaption.

I just have a few things that need sorting. Firstly the cigarette lighter wire needs lengthening before it will reach the new location. Secondly I need the coin tray insert in front of the handbrake. I also need the ash tray insert. I've pretty much got the single din slot sorted, either a cubby hole or some slide out cup holders.

I am SO happy this job is done, and it makes my car look so much more sporty and almost executive!

Let me know what you guys think!

Technically LEDs are only legal if fitted to a car from new (same as hid headlights) it's all to do with vehicle type approval
Uk lighting regulations are old now and talk only about incandescent bulbs.

Authorities tend to be less bothered about some LEDs than they are with hid headlights which blind oncoming cars pose a fire risk to the car as they are not designed to work with wiring.

I don't think you're going to get pulled for an LED number plate bulb unless it's obviously far too bright or its in the wrong colour

Managed to scrape together some money (big help from my girlfriend) and get a big update to my car!

Managed to find some Abarth alloys that I've been looking for for a while now, off our very own wrightyy :) Massive thanks to him!

So today and I spent the best part of 2 hours fitting them myself at home...
Tried my new acquired bottle jack, but it didn't have enough in it to lift my car off the ground, so it was back to the trusty twist-up jack.

After a bit of a rain break, I finally got them all on securely and safely. And overall I am absolutely chuffed to bits with the result! Exactly what I was after.

See what you think.

(I'm now selling my Active Sport alloys)

Washed my car today, nothing unusual about that (I tend to wash it once a week). But this time instead of getting out the car polish and wax etc, I used the cheats equivalent; Demon Shine!

I must say, it worked exactly the same as all the hard work I'd do with polish and wax. It just took a lot less time :)

It's honestly the shiniest I've ever seen my car! It made the paintwork look a deeper colour and look fresher.

See what you guys think (the pictures do it no justice, but you can see the shine).

Today I managed to put my badgeless grill on! It only took me about a day longer than I expected..

I dipped into the wealth of experience of the guys and girls of the Fiat Forum to give me a helping hand. So once I knew that I might be able to put my grill on without butchering my Punto, I set to it!

By working my way across each screw, I got it on just about! Only problem is that it doesn't sit quite properly on the front, but still looks good!

See what you guys think.

Nice! Have you thought about a splitter for the front. A Laguna one seems popular..
