Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto MK2b

Introduction

Hi everyone,
Its not the first time I've showed off a new Fiat on this forum! I used to have a poor little '99 Seicento Sporting Abarth but its was pretty toast.. So now I've got a new baby, its newer and bigger...
A MK2b '03 Punto Active Sport 1.2 8v.. I've driven it once so far and I'm already hooked.. just can't get enough of these little Italian cars!

Regards,
Rhys
If you can open the side indicators without to much damage take the orange inserts out and glue back together, don't use super glue it reacts with the plastic and turns them white ?? then order some silver indicator bulbs which go orange when lit.
They will look cool.

Do you know where you can find them?

I think they'd look great, plus my indicator lenses are knackered..

Just added another slight mod that has interested me for a while. Yellow tinted fog lights.

There's a car meet-up that I sometimes go to in Milton Keynes (just down the road from me) and I've seen this a lot there.

So, I jumped onto eBay and brought some transparent yellow vinyl. Only cost me £1.99 all in all, for a piece of A4 (way more than I needed).

All I did after that was cut around a milk bottle lid, cut little slits in it, then stuck it on. Unfortunately I had to add a few extra pieces to cover a few gaps.

See what you guys think...

Thanks man :) I liked the idea of making the lines of the car look a solid colour and not broken up by a blue pillar!

One of the peoples cars that inspired me was yours! Seeing as its the same colour and I absolutely love how yours looked. You did a fantastic job!

Rhys

Only a small thing but it does make a difference doesn't it :)

Cheers!

Good plan! Didn't think about those.
Got any tips on painting them? Techniques etc..

Rhys

Take them off the car. It'll make the whole job slightly longer but you'll be able to cover the full part and eliminate the chance of over spray on the car.

Key the surface, primer, paint then lacquer. I think theres a good guide in the guides section

Your paint code is located on the underside of the bonnet on a silver sticker

Thanks mate, Sounds tricky but I'm sure I'll eventually get round to it!

Finally got my parts from EuroCarParts today... And same old same old, they gave me the wrong ones. Well, technically they are the right ones, just not what I ordered.

I ordered the de-tangoed ones that were slightly tinted aftermarket ones (just so happened to be cheaper), but instead I got original 'fried egg' ones... Not what I wanted, but I got the more expensive, original lenses for about £4 cheaper than if I ordered them.

So I might tint them myself some time..

Anything was better than what I had before! See pictures below.
