500 Purple People Eater

Introduction

Hi Guys,

It's taken me a while to get around to putting photos up. Picked it up on a rainy day at the end of November and had to wait a long time for the wheels to come in due to some poor organisation on Fiat Australia/Mopar's behalf. Changed the mirrors myself (easy and way cheaper) after sourcing them from overseas. Absolutely in love with the car and the colour! About to relocate to Melbourne from Sydney so we'll see how the road trip goes.

Cheers,
Tee

Looks good. Nice contrast on the seats, but no doubt difficult keeping them clean?

They were fine until I wore a navy blue dress to a funeral the other day, the silk must have had just enough dye left after washing to be a pain. Lesson learnt, wash your dark dresses several times before getting in the car. But nothing that a decent cleaning product hasn't been able to take care of. Otherwise I haven't had any issues, I don't eat or drink anything but water in there and my friends are aware that I'm neurotic. We don't want a repeat of the great red wine vs couch incident of 2013 ;)

Don't think it will be a problem for me as my wardrobe lacks silk dresses:devil::D

The title confuses me. Does it eat only purple people or is purple a reference to the car's colour and does it eat all...

Love that colour and the seats, never seen one like that in England. I guess your in Oz or NZ?

Does the southern hemisphere have US spec cars or do they have one of their own? Where are they built?

I'm in Australia, we get the same ones as you do from Poland. The seats are custom covers from the UK that fit like a glove. It was a nightmare to get them on but they look like they’re meant to be there.

Haha, it’s a children’s song. [ame]https://youtu.be/REHV8LERhPw[/ame]

Thank you for the compliments, I still love my cinquecento.

That's what I missed during my childhood! "I wouldn't eat you 'cause you're so tough!" Hilarious! :ROFLMAO:

I like the educational aspects of this forum!

No it's not, it's a 1950s song by Sheb Wooley which reached No1 in the US.

Is it a twin air? I wanted those black wheels. Looks good!

No, it's the pop. I wanted a manual. I have a gf who has the twin air and while I really appreciate the turbo the dualogic isn't my cup of tea. I was a bit unsure about the black wheels at first, I thought it may be a bit too much with the purple. But the silver centre caps lift it and I'm really happy with them. :D
