Grande Punto 1.9 sporting

Introduction

I got this car about 2 1/2 years ago. It had 45k on the clock and was in alright condition. I absolutely loved it for a while then I just got bored and sick of it. It starting getting a few things that needed sorting but i've decided to make a thread to show my journey with the car :). I realised the other day that I do actually really like my car and I am really lucky to have it!

What I have done;
Lamin x the rear lights
Vinyl behind number plate
Painted the calipers
Blue LED interior lights
LED side lights and number plate
Sprayed the plastic trim on bonnet
Team heko wind deflectors
Dieseluk tuning box

Im sure there has been a few things I have missed. Hopefully all the pics get them :)

So there are a few things I have had to get sorted with this car.
New anti roll bar
New droplink
New battery
New caliper

But this car has covered 65k miles now so I am expecting a few wear and tear items that will need doing. I have just had it serviced too so the car is running a lot smoother.

These are the things I need to get sorted;
Alloy wheels are going to get refurbished in anthracite
Heater needs sorting out as it only works on setting 4
New pollen filter is getting fitted
I am getting some continental contact 3s fitted in about a week.
There are some stone chips and scratches I will be getting out too. Looking at getting the paints4u scratch master kit, so if anyone has tried this then I would love to know how it performs

So not the best update. I have my car booked in for Monday to get a new tyre and to get the heater fixed. It only works on setting four and I don't fancy trying to install a new loom. The bad news is I noticed tonight on my car that the lacquer is peeling off the bonnet. It looks like some liquid is under but I cannot tell what it is. It is at the top and only a few spots and also the bonnet trim that I sprayed has decided to start flaking to. I think these are connected. So I am going to get a quote for a bonnet respray tomorrow. I will get some pics of the marks later

rossul Hello mate in terms of the heater you haven't got to install a new loom mate all you need are these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-Gran...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20df074776

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-Gran...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item20de9bec1b

and 30 mins of your time mate and that's that fixed :)

or;

unplug the loom to the resistor and remove the resistor once you have removed the resistor give the prongs a clean up with an emery board or paper or equivalent and then reinstall it, it may work again for a short while or given you enough time to get the cash to get a permanent repair (y)

Thanks :) I'm not sure if I would feel comfortable doing that. I'm not good with electrics and fiddly things. So I think I will give it a miss. Thanks for the link though. Have your plates come?

No mate not yet,

mate getting the resistor out is nothing its harder putting in petrol/diesel lol :D

Pressed plates have come. I've just seen avout the lacquer peeling off the bonnet and they said it doesn't need doing as it won't rust but it will cost 180 plus vat. So I'm in two minds what to do

Well about a month ago someone hit my wing mirror off and scratched side of the car and a scuff on the wheel arch now someone has hit the other side and bent my wing mirror and scuffed the bumper. Also managed to knock open then fuel cap too. So annoying

so i start fitting the footwell leds. got the cable in and tested the leds and they were working fine, all lights were working as they should. Then i decided to be an idiot and snip the wire and blew the fuse + it was getting dark so i called it a day, the passenger side led is zip tied in place and the wire is there, i just need to fit the drivers side and connect them all up. I will get them sorted tomorrow night, that is if this snow doesn't settle

if you follow the guide on here they are easy as long as you read it properly unlike it do. I would suggest taking the fuse out for the lights before you start just incase you blow it like i did! I think it cost about 10 quid to get all the stuff for it. Pressed plates are really smart. 20 pound for them!
