Cinquecento My '93 1.4 16v Cinquecento

Introduction

Hi everyone,

After best part of ten years with various Italian cars, I'm now back where I started.... with a Cinq!!

I bough it already converted to 1242 16v power but it will be undergoing a lot of work to improve and tidy bits here and there.

Since buying it I've swapped the K&N for a CDA, I've re-fitted the orange front indicators and flushed the coolant and fitted a cleaner expansion tank. Alternator belt changed, that's fun with the engine mount being so close! Major service coming soon as well.

Please excuse the crappy pictures, my phone is rubbish!!

Rear window is tinted, that will be coming off:

Has a 1.6 16v Bravo TB, RR'd at 89bhp:

With my standard Seicento Sporting:

Lots of stuff on the to do list including fitting Spax kit (ordered), move the battery back in to the engine bay, moving ECU to other side of engine bay, polybush nearly everything I can buy a polybush for, put rear seats back in, upper and lower strut bar and fit Uno turbo calipers! Should keep me busy!

Lots more little jobs need doing, car has been keyed so that needs doing as well. I might upgrade to a 1.4 at some point but I won't get too carried away yet!

Overall though it's a cracking little car, so much fun and once I've sorted a few bits (mainly the brakes and the suspension!!) it should be fantastic.

Got some 20mm spacers kicking about in the garage so might give them a go.

My 1.4 block is sitting at a mate's unit. Once my workshop is finished I'll be stripping it an rebuilding it with a few nice mods along the way. It won't be in the car until next year though.

Hoping to go to the retro kings event at snetterton end of May so might see some track action soon enough.

I have a Cinq Sporting which is fun to drive but I'm in a dilemma. I have purchased a Punto Sporting with the idea of putting the 16v engine in the Cinq, I see from the above that this is possible but will the Cinq accept the 6 speed box from the Punto? Such as smooth engine the 16v and perfectly suited to the Punto.

Did they ever stop making them  Although i see they have a newer website design since i last visited. But it still says on the RFX that you can order any 4 stud pcd between 95.25 to 114.3 and offsets of 16 to 51.

PS> looking back I just noticed your traffic light air freshener - i so want some of them but you are not wrong about them being expensive!! Someone should put these back into production (with the same scent of course - oh the nostalgia!)

Hello everyone. Car still exists and it's still not quite finished! Must have had it nearly ready for MOT about three times only to pull it apart and change something.

Basically need to do a bit of welding and then it's wiring, wiring, wiring and more wiring, rolling road and done. 2017 will be the year I drive it again.

I'll get some pics up soon (y)
