Punto (Mk2/2b) My mk2 punto what do you think?

Introduction

Any suggestions welcome ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1377728457.057908.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1377728505.291842.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1377728602.076278.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1377728669.270736.jpg
im running a set of Dare v4 17" alloys, running 205/40/17 tyres, fit and look like a dream, only thing is if i get too much weight in the car or go over a speedbump to quick the back catches, Also i had to fit 3mm spacers on the rear. and mine only rub when full lock right but i think this could be cause my tracking needs done.

Do you not get all the bumps coming through the car?

There's a few guides on it but they done show you how to solder the smds on :( if you live close to Durham ill do them for you

Ah right thanks, I was hoping you'd say you can buy it like that somewhere. Haha, I thought it'd be exactly what you said though. I haven't soldered before, not tried it at all yet, so I'm not going near my cluster with SMDs that get burned after more than 1 and a half seconds of touching with a low wattage soldering iron lol.

Cheers for the info and the offer anyway mate. I'm in Ireland and not near Durham lol, probably a few thousand miles or so away.

Hi Mate, How did you do your Speedo lights? as ive got no lights atm so i cant see them unless im in the day lol

- Jay:)

Hi mate there's a Gide on here somewhere if you search for punto mk2 led change should come up,
If not here's a quick Gide :)
-take dials out of car
-take black plastic back off
-remove the trip and clock buttons of front by pulling them (don't bend)
-remove the black plastic car holding the glass as one don't remove glass!
-use a fork to remove needles and mark the fuel gauge so you know where to put it back!!
- remove the gauge front (the bit with numbers and speed on)
-use a pair of pliers to straighten the metal clips holding the LCD screen in but don't remove the metal cage
-gently unclip circuit board until its free of the white plastic bit
- use the plastic white case you just removed as a guide to what LEDs need changed! Now the tricky bit,
-useing tweezers remove one led at a time remembering were the little notch on the led is and solder the new one on in the same place :) easy if you can solder not so easy if you can't :D hope it helps

Ah youre a star thanks so much!!!!! Just my speedo lights don't work but everything else does? Going to see if its a fuse first but ideally want to change to a blue set anyway!

Bloody typical! Is it hard to fix?

All you do to find out witch led has died is get a multi meter put it on continuity (so it beeps when you touch it together) and put the black probe on the bottom (the notch end) and red on top and if it lights up its fine and just do that for the rest of them to see what one has died ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1391036973.291063.jpg
