Yeah it's how I picked my alloysand if you can get the 188 engine cos they sorted the HG problem
Yeah going scrappies tomorrow to inspect what engines they have before i go again to buy one
no doubt ill do a thread on the swap, sure itll be interesting for all punto owners out there

1.2 8v aren't built suspension brakes, ecu, wiring loom etc aren't made to work "safely" with the 1.4 16v
You'd end up spending more upgrading, over just buying a 1.4 to start with
the 1.2 8v is a pokey engine it can what ever you want, just keep it running sweet and give it love care and some posh petrol and they'll happily keep up on motorways

Its a pokey engine alright when it fails
But nah i have to agree with you Ziggy my friend the 1.2 8v has enough poke there to have some fun with. Hence why im just getting another 1.2 8v lump shove it in and enjoy my punto again!

Yeah they pack some punch for a 1.2 haha only wanted 1.4 to give it a little more power

Mist admit I thought when I engine swapped the old punto the new engine was broken because it was sooo quiet

Might sound daft but try caravan spring helpers its what I'm using,
Can pick them up at caravan shops,
Before that what shocks have you got on?

Did 17s fit easy? Was going to put stilo abarth ones but got told they rub when going round corners
17'' can easily be fitted, as long as the correct tyres are fitted. 17'' on a punto dont look great though,
im running a set of Dare v4 17" alloys, running 205/40/17 tyres, fit and look like a dream, only thing is if i get too much weight in the car or go over a speedbump to quick the back catches, Also i had to fit 3mm spacers on the rear. and mine only rub when full lock right but i think this could be cause my tracking needs done.
