Vernon will be getting GerTie back on the road restoring him to his former glory :worship:

Keeping it simple and stylish, planning on a decent stereo (seeing as it is hidden in it's own little compartment) and a set of custom carpet mats (tastefully embroidered with the GTie legend) are the only mods planned at present. :)

Feel free to fill in a few more details Vernon (y)
Been quoted £127+VAT for the glass from Lancia garage up here!

If I add £100 for round trip fuel costs, £60 for fitting Autoglass may be the way to go (or at least not a massive rip off).

I got a front window from autoglass for £70 through my insurance, but Im told that it depends on your insurance company, some can be free, some can be £10 and some can be £70 they said.

No harm in phoning them to find out mate!

Car is not insured at the moment as it hasn't an MOT, to get an MOT the glass needs replacing.

Catch 22 eh?
AndyPanda4x4 it's not a flat screen like the panda, it's like curved!

Strictly speaking you could insure it and try to claim for the glass - you don't need an MOT to insure it (you need an MOT and insurance to tax it though). For your insurance to be valid (unless it's off the road cover), however, the car needs to be roadworthy.

The chances of anyone checking the MOT for a glass claim - possibly fairly remote? If you had been using the car and it failed the MOT on the glass you'd expect to claim wouldn't you, and the car might not have a valid one at that exact moment?

I agree with this, try it! Worst they can say is no!

Thanks Vernon,

Doesn't look too bad now does it?

I like the script under the Reg # "its an Italian thing, you won't understand!!!!!"

I really must get down for a drive round the yard in it :slayer:

There are a couple of ' missing, though you've added one back in John! I like the logo but it would drive me demented like that - I'm happy with the punctuation abuse at the end as I do that myself!!!! :D

Word of warning to Gtie owners.
If you give it the beans, just watch out for the rev limiter killing the engine.
Happened to me once overtaking a Jag, hit max revs in 3rd and engine died just as I was alongside it, had to turn the ignition off and back on again.
Its an Italian safety feature, hit the oncoming lorry head on and die quicker!
Good job I was going in a straight line and the steering lock didn't lock.
