Grande Punto My first car, Sporting GP 1.4 16v

Introduction

Recently bought a Sporting 1.4 Grande Punto as my first car. Completely new to the forum, already learned a good few things. Great place for information I'll need to work on the motor!

The guy who owned it before me has taken no care at all on the alloys, the look brilliant but are in dire need of restoration. Curbs & tar have made most of the mess, professionals needed! Also, just a couple of dents in the bodywork & that's it, thankfully.

First things first is to get the alloys worked on then thinking possibly;
• de-badged grill
• panel filter
• induction kit
• lowering springs
• glossy black roof wrap
• tint back & side windows
• pioneer stereo

Would like to hear what are the most common mods people start with & where I should go from here. Cheers

Looks OK mate !

As you said the wheels definitely need a refurb, and the mods to have lined up are good however how old are you as this is your first car I'm guessing your quite young ? Things such as the induction kit might not be a good idea for you if your under 20 ! Purely due to insurance expense !

Just turned 20, the induction kit is more of a future thing to do.

Smart looking car already mate (y) I know photos cant really do a car justice but the body work looks fine in the photos

I would have loved this to have been my first car :)

As for your plans...

• de-badged grill

Not my cup of tea but then again this is not my car, never been a fan of debadged grills on any car :D

• panel filter

I got one for my 8v. Very cheap and easy to do mod. People would argue the benefits but I would say ignore them and go for it. I got a K&N panel filter (no induction kit) and I swear it drives and sounds better. People may say thats a placebo but for a placebo it keeps me happy

• induction kit

Do it

• lowering springs

What were you thinking of getting? people on here seem to always recommend eibach sportlines and I think i've seen a few with apex springs

• glossy black roof wrap

GPs with black roofs look awesome (y)

• tint back & side windows

Good idea

• pioneer stereo

GP owners seem to be raving about the pioneer headunits, so much that i may have to invest in one myself. I notice halfords are selling a tidy looking pioneer headunit for £70

Cheers for the advice mate. There's a panel on the left hand side wheel arch that needs to be popped out & that's all, didn't put up a photo of it.

The panel filter sounds like the easiest way to go for now! What was the specific type you got ? I was looking at one but it said "Tjet" compared to my star-jet.. Not sure if it will fit ?

As for the lowering springs, not sure who to go with as of yet. That's still a few months away so I'll need to do some looking around on here first!
