Seicento Seicento Abarth 1.1

Introduction

About time I made a thread for our second car,
Its used by Carly (quite a few have met her at local meets and FF shows)
We originally had a 899 sx seicento and seen this sei abarth advertised very close to us :) so we decided to change..

Anyway over the year we've owned this its had a few suttle changes..

FK lowering 40mm springs
Interior roof and A pillars re-retrimmed in Red
sprayed alloys in anthracite with red speckles in the paint (can't really notice it unless you look closely haha)

the previous owner had sprayed over the Abarth Grille and other bits of the car in red but it started chipping away and looked a mess so all the mesh was taken out sprayed back to black and the Abarth Grille was re-sprayed

Future plans.

GT3 custom Exhaust (may be on in time for MITcar)
Carly would like to lower it some more..
Cento186 it doesn't look THAT red in person, like every other RED sei its slightly pink on the other side haha :')
Honeymonster it certainly is :) ...bar the Turbo haha!

Although it does come up lovely after a good detail! doesn't quite match the deep red on the bumpers but it never will :(

Also carly got home tonight to the Alternator absolutely screaming its head off so that may delay it coming to Stanford if its not sorted!

edit to go with above.
after tonights detail, no filters on the camera

my insta name is C12LYH so am easy to find, follow me for loads of sei pics

Shhhhhhhhhh it's red now little less noticeable haha. James (jatkinson) you can come stay the night before if you want, am gonna go the garage now see what my mechanic says 99% sure it's the alternator as it screams that awful noise as of last night on my way home.

Turns out its not the altenator screaming....

I now think it may be the waterpump... Which was fine when i changed the timing belt a few months back so I'm hopefully going to take a look at that tonight or friday night after work... Ergh haha.

add water pump anti squeak or used brake fluid to coolant if the noise stops it is the water pump.

It could be the cam belt adjuster though they do go and I replace when changing pump every 30k miles or so... if the belt is burnished on the smooth side it is a bad sign. You can see this easily if you lift the top cam belt cover.

reu reu reu, should have done waterpump when you did the belt. :nono: and now you know why.

presume you removed the alt belt and it still does it?? assuming you changed the tensioner when you did the belt, the waterpump is really the only thing left for it to be - just change it anyway IMO

blu73 i was told by previous owner that it had been done :( and i checked it when i did the belt and all was fine...

Lesson learnt!

Going to get up early sat morning and change it all over, carly wants the sei at stanford haha.
Also what planned for its exhaust this week but that had to be changed due to this being more inportant, should he going in next week now hopefully!

Ill just replace the whole lot again and go from there :)
Pep0 i was not aware there was such thing as anti water pump squeek haha. Thanks for the tips :)

well the propriety anti squeak a good factor will carry is merely a water soluble or misable oil.

the squeak from a pump is rust in the ball bearings cause the seal has been leaking excessively

the oil lubes the balls

but it is a last resort to get you home the seal is likely to collapse or tear as the bearing tolerances open out

normal brake fluids are good substitutes

but the squeak is a warning not to ignore

been adding anti squeak from factor or brake fluid when factor closed when the banshee squealed for over forty years

none of the glycols are good lubs and not everyone will have 50% some people use OAT.

It is best to replace pump immediately as if the seal fails you overheat or if the pump seizes your cam belt may not last until you overheat

anti squeak may get you home without walking

I replace pumps every three years myself not everyone does that.
