Grande Punto Rosalia the 1.4 8V

Introduction

This is my first car, a 1.4 8V passionale red Grande Punto. I've had my Fiat for about a year and a half now, and I'm loving it.

When we first bought her:

And with a set of 15" Evo wheels:

I'm loving the forum too by the way - everyone's been very helpful!

Haha I'm the same with blue and me, I love that my car has blue and me and steering wheel controls, it makes other cars look really basic, shame I can't play my music through it tho :( haha

Cheers for the link

No problem mate :D how come you can't play the music through it? I just stick all of my driving tunes in .mp3 format on the USB, but because iTunes wants to be different and have everything in .mp4 it aaallll needs manual conversion XD

Did you happen to give this one a test in one of your many purchases...

Thanks

It may be a complete coincidence but I did in fact buy one of these! I found from a friend that they only fit well with the sporting rear bumper/splitter. Even after a lot of sawing, I couldn't get it to look right on my standard bumper, it's too short and rounded in comparison to the sporting bodykit :D

And after only a couple of weeks the chrome started to bubble and get spots of rust. A bit of car wax over the tip every now and again would stop this, but being a numpty I forgot haha XD

The one I linked earlier is stainless steel, and very good quality, AND is designed for the stock bumper, so I haven't had any problems with it so far :D

That's a shame then :(

So does it completely not fit without having to saw some of the bumper away?

I'm too tight to buy the one you got haha, although I should probably get it rather than wasting more money on crap ones :p

Haha sorry mate I meant sawing the chrome exhaust tip XD I couldn't bring myself to take a saw to the bumper or backbox :D

It'll fit the bumper and the stock exhaust with no problems, it just sticks out too far in my opinion, looks abit strange. You could buy one and modify it to fit how you want, but the way that tip's designed (with the slanting rear) it makes it tricky. Plus when I sawed mine, the surface rusts and bubbles around the cut, then spreads. It's all personal opinion of course really :)

Glad you cleared that up ;) thought it looked a bit tidy considering you'd been at it with a saw!

So basically, if I got it and I didn't saw it, it wouldn't rust but it would stick out too much? (in your opinion :D)

Aye mate :) well worth a try though. All it needs is some car wax on it before you put it on, and the chrome should remain rust-free for a long time, certainly longer than mine did anyway haha :D

I'd happily send you my old one if you really wanted it, but it's not exactly a fine example of the breed haha - it's got a couple of rust spots, and lots of rust around the top where I cut some excess off (that's hidden behind the bumper though) although it'd probably clean up alright

Right, it turns out that the headlights that I ordered, the ones that I was told blantantly were in stock...aren't. Apparantly the company have a six-week stock turnaround, but the next shipment won't necessarily even have the Abarth lights, nobody I spoke to knew. Bloody brilliant.

I'll have to track down another set for reasonable money by the looks of things, putting the car on hold for a while. I've been too busy rebuilding my terrible computer :D
