Grande Punto Rosalia the 1.4 8V

Introduction

This is my first car, a 1.4 8V passionale red Grande Punto. I've had my Fiat for about a year and a half now, and I'm loving it.

When we first bought her:

And with a set of 15" Evo wheels:

I'm loving the forum too by the way - everyone's been very helpful!

Afternoon all :)

The car's running like new - new front anti-roll-bar link arms, brake discs, suspension springs and brake pads both sides, a new headlight connector, new heater motor and a good wash mean that although it's been an expensive day, it's been a good one :D The car's faultless for the first time in two years!

Plus, I got a sneak peek at my local Alfa garage's new stock:

I ruined my jeans, I really did :p

All I need to do now is touch up the brake calipers with some ceramic paint, and the Fiat's all ready for summer :)

Hi guys,

The Fiat's never missed a beat the past few months, even though I've been treating it like a workhorse. It'll be getting a new timing belt and water pump come January.

I'm still looking for the same dashboard panel I was before though, haven't had any luck finding one so far, so any help would be appreciated. Also, the Blue&Me media player has stopped outputting sound from the USB input and voice commands, but the CD, hands-free kit and radio still work fine - any ideas? Should I disconnect the battery to reset the B&MCU?

Thanks all,
Adam

Evening all!

The car's just sailed through its MOT - no advisories, which is handy given the time of year. I'm still searching for a replacement for the piece of damaged dashboard trim though, and I haven't had much luck so far.

One thing I've been looking into investing in is a dashboard camera, given the amount of idiots that've tried to drive into me over the past couple of years. Just wondering about people's experiences with them, and whether it's worth buying more expensive over cheaper.

I was fancying one that is built into a rear-view mirror, as it'd be handy having one inconspicuous enough to not need to take it out every time you get out the car, plus I don't want anything obtrusive of the windscreen - something like this:

Also, can you hard-wire another +12V socket from the lighter charger? I'd need to have the cigarette lighter free for my sat-nav, and then I can hide the cables too.

Thanks, and Merry Christmas everyone! :D

Andy Monty is the king of dashboard cams, he should be able to point you in the right direction. I'd be really interested in one that blends in with the mirror, if they're any good that is!

And yes, you can absolutely hard wire in another 12V socket, it's a great cheap addition. Something I'm currently doing to blend my phone mount in nicely.
