Grande Punto Bernard the Tango T-Jet

Turns out that new regulations brought in a month or two ago state that, The second an M.O.T Tester see's that a modern (petrol) car does not have a Cat, regardless of emissions, It is a fail. So my mechanic is going to weld a stainless steel 'cat looking' box to the bottom of my De-Cat so it looks legit! He said he will also make changes so that it will be a 'bolt on/bolt off' job so I can re-attach the standard cat before and M.O.T

To be honest, its just to keep my mechanic happy and keep me in his good books, I mean the undertray blocks all upward vision and the heat shield covers the whole downpipe. But as I said, would rather it were done with his opinion rather than just have it fitted then find out he no longer wants to do stuff to my car

Of course it's keeping him happy if he's getting extra cash for unnecessary work. Nobody is ever going to see, and if they do, they won't be someone who cares. I don't want to tell you what to do but seriously, it's a silly idea, just get the decat on and swap it back for MOTs

Decat fitted for £100 (Just a straight bolt on with no box added) and loving every second of it! Uploading a video as we speak but it was taken in broad daylight so will do another at night some time :)
