500L Introducing our 500L!

Looks good. Thought it was the Lounge as I thought only Lounge got chrome inserts in the side rubbing strips, then I noticed the panoramic roof!

Only seen the one on the road so far, a red one on the M4 in Wiltshire, reg C?13, so it was from Wales. However, looks to be a fair few delivered or on order judging by comments on Fiats Facebook page, so I think they might have a hit on their hands.

I'd actually be really disappointed if I bought a secondhand Fiat and it no longer had the original tax disc holder - my Mk1 Punto still had the original dealer tax disc holder (and number plates) when I bought it at 7 years old. My Stilo had all original stuff when I test drove it, so I was mortified when I went to collect it & the dealer had removed the Fiat dealer sticker & tax disc holder - why would I want a Volvo tax disc holder on a Fiat :(

Looks good, they really do look better in the flesh and I enjoyed the test drive I had in the 1.6 diesel. The only thing I didn't like was the square Digital display in the instrument panel, it looked straight out of the Fiat Idea I had and gave me a cold shiver as the Idea I owned was so awful. Smacked of Fiat penny pinching.

Well we had a pleasant trip up to the Scottish Borders on Friday. The car behaved very well - just clicked up 1200 miles and averaged 42.2 mpg for the journey. Quite happy with that considering the low mileage. Some of the hills did require 4th gear, but again, considering the engine size, this is hardly surprising. Motorway cruising was painless!

He's got the 1.4 FIRE (y)

Great economy (y)

I like the trip display, it's an upgrade on what I had in the Bravo. Plus you set the time, units, etc. via the big colour touchscreen and not two crappy micro switches next to the dials ;)

Yep, the trip display is excellent, and the touch display is even better as it can display all your trip data at once. The only quirk I've found is that it doesn't always notify me when a new text arrives (it can read them out! ), but this could be a issue with my phone - and isn't a major concern anyway. All in all - loving it!

Have you found the ecodrive live? I didn't spot it last night.

Hi 500L, yes the Ecodrive Live works to a point, but like all these type of driving aids, they can only go so far. What I mean by this is that, for example, it may suggest that you should be in a higher gear, but what it doesn't know is that you can see that you are approaching a great big hill, and changing up would be dumb! But yes, it does teach you to brake and accelerate progressively etc. Just how useful it will be long-term, will only show in time.
