Punto (Mk2/2b) Black Punto Mk2

Introduction

Hi all, thought I'd start a thread to track the progress of my Mk2 project.

First of all we start with a base spec 1.2 8V Mk2 in black, bought for £500 with 49k on the clock, with 10 months MOT. The car came with 2 dented front wings, a slightly bent front bumper and a rusty rear Jeffery.

I then swapped the interior for that from a Mk2b Active Sport to get rid of the hideous standard grey.

I started to play around with a few different sets of 4x98 wheels I had laying about, the pepper pots from my '89 Lancia Delta and 7 spokes from the '84 Beta.

I found inspiration by way of another member on this forum who had fitted Alfa Romeo Speedlines to a black Mk2b, so I negotiated a deal on a refurbished set with a friend for £100. New rubber on them and they went on the car, my new mirrors then arrived, to replaced Shrek's ears. I'm not a huge fan of the base-plates that came with the mirrors, so a friend is custom making me a smaller, more streamlined set which follow the lines of the doors a little better :)

I cleaned, clayed and waxed the car yesterday.

Wax on, Wax off.

Plenty of back to black was used, to good effect :)

Comments and opinions welcome :)
my only advise would be have a good look at the underneath! My x reg failed MOT last year on floors and sills, had to have a lot of welding!

You might have got lucky with the fairly low mileage, if so get it undersealed

Future plans:
Mk2b Active Sport rear bumper
Possibly a modified active sport front bumper
35mm lowering springs
Sporting spoiler
Abarth skirts
Maybe reclining bucket seats
Change the LEDs in my dash (centre console is done)
New exhaust, probably keeping standard but has a big hole in it :p
15mm hubcentric spacers

Any other ideas guys? :)

I'm going for a race look and not too euro :)

Looking good so far and the future plans look interesting and i look forward to seeing how they turn out.

If you are interested i have some 35mm springs for sale if you want them.
