Panda (Classic) My ZFA141A0004215562

Introduction

I ll just add some Pictures to keep track of the progress and hopefully have a nice result in the end :)

Some info:

FIAT PANDA 4X4

Manufacture date: 01/01/1988

Engine type: 156A3.000 [999cc]

Miles on the clock: 895580

some pics
My spacers are exactly 18mm high, not 20mm. 18mm on my car is the max height that allows to use original "upper part bolts" plus nut and shim to bolt it to the body. 20mm are also good, but there is no more space for the shim. Probably it refers to all pandas, but panda is mass production car ,it is always better to measure things twice:)

Purple Haze:
It is 1980 mk1 panda 45, but with 903ccm cinquecento carb engine, plus mk1 4x4 gearbox ,propshaft and rear axle.

You can use steel to make them, or aluminium, or some hard plastic. I've made my set from ertalon, it is hard but elastic polymer{ nylon}Those made from alu or plastic are lighter, and do not corrode :)

OK things are gettin tiring :p

I will have to replace the left spider bearing :/
already bought 33EUR :/

Anyone knows if an alternator from an UNO etc would fit to my Panda?
my Alternator is not working properly i have found some new ones in ebay and i can also repair mine but i was wondering if other models fit, i ll buy a used one.

someone?

thanks

Just got a new alternator for mine, there were two options depending on the charge rate. It was 60 for a recon genuine one which I didn't think was bad at all, from a generic auto parts dealership.

The fiat alternators are renowned for wearing out the brushes which causes all kinds of oddball earthing problems. Brush kits are available but can cost upto and above half the value of just buying a recon one!

i bought one off ebay.de for 73EUR...

i already bought the spider bearing and im waiting for the alternator to show up so i can drive to a friends house and put the stuff on the car.

im also waiting for my rear light, bonnet scoop and front grille...

next step is the new tires/alloys. im thinking that its better to spray the one i have and spend the money in some ON/OFF tires maybe Malatesta or something similar.

i hope im done with the niggles but i dont think so.

hopefully the main problems are/will be solved and then ill start on the small/cosmetic bits [4x4 badge missing on left side, dash cloth cleaning etc etc]

Oh and to install the audio headunit i got.

Yeah i read a lot of good reviews and good words but im trying to source them in Cyprus with no luck, i know that they sell them in Greece, but no supplier here..

Im waiting for a shipping quote for some Hakka II from the UK. If the price is good im going for the Hakka..

Instead of going for alloys i think its a better choice to just change the tyres and give the steelies a respray or fiat wheel covers.

Im thinking about it for the steelies. i like it ''stock'' ;)

as far as the tires, im going for something 100% OFF or 50/50..

a friend of mine offered me some 13's from an ALFA 75 which are a bit wider i think those are 5J and the Pandas 4.5J right? So i suppose i can go a bit wider with tires 175/70 etc to get a bigger ground clearance.

but i will wait until next month cause cash is running low and i already looted my bank acc :) (n):slayer:
