Tempra My big fat greek 1.6 i.e.

Introduction

Hello everyone! :) Long time no post here.
It's been a while since a Tempra appeared in the Members Motors section so here it goes:

It's a '94 1.6 i.e. SLX model in 624 Green Stone metallic with the 835C1.000 engine producing 76hp.
It has been in the family from new and it's now got 147500km. It has never been involved in serious car accidents and it's somewhat reliable for a 90's Fiat, with very good handling.
Almost everything is being kept original. The only modifications are:
- Bilstein B6 shocks
- Diavia aircon
- full sized spare wheel
- Carello front fog lights with Osram All Season lamps
- Kenwood radio-mp3-BT with Alpine speakers
- a Tipo steering wheel
- a set of nice rubber Michelin mats
- the Mk2 Uno "Racing" badge :p
Comments and questions are more than welcome!

Thanks, yes it looks good (wouldn't dare to say mint due to many light scratches, mostly from touching branches, bushes etc while parking) as we have a garage.
The 5½x14" alloys with 185/60 Pirelli tyres were standard on the SLX trim. Too bad mine is an early facelift (manufactured in Oct 1993) and it didn't come with the rear electric windows as well. At least it had electric/heated mirrors as standard - very convenient.

That's a really nice looking car, I can tell you are proud of it. Has it got the single point fuelinjection or the later (better) MPI like the Sporting Puntos?

It's so rare to see a Tempra in the UK now, I'm glad that they can survive and be appreciate in Europe

I'm curious.. why the Tipo steering wheel?

Can't say I'm really proud of it when it doesn't start :p but it's been well taken after and I wouldn't trade it for anything from the '90s C-seg. ;)

It's the SPI model, the MPI engine made it to Greece only as Dedras and Mk1 Punto Cabrios.

About the steering wheel, first f/l models came with this one:

which has two points for the horn. These tend to break from the inside so the horn can't work.
No wonder they changed the steering wheel shortly after with this one:

that seems to have proper buttons.
Anyway, mine broke (couldn't sound the horn) so after trying to fix it with no success, and since I couldn't fit a Mk2 Lancia Y10 one I had, I tried to find the old Tempra style one. All I saw were badly worn but luckily the one I have now appeared. Didn't matter it came from a Tipo, it was in vg condition, it had the fiat logo (most basic spec Tipos don't) and the horn would sound from everywhere I could press. :D
