Grande Punto My Grande Sporting 'Francesca'

Introduction

Hi all,
Fairly new to this forum malarkey but been looking through threads on here for a while before finally getting my 56 plate Grande 1.4 16v Sporting with skydome roof about 3 weeks ago! Won her on an eBay auction for £2350 with 1 owner from new FSH and 60,000 on the clock (quite a bargain I think?!). Picked her up from London so got a good drive back up to Yorkshire to get to know Francesca (yes... I called her that :) ) and I have to say I'm already in love!

Quite an upgrade from my first car a 1.0L Polo 6n (absolutely great car btw, built like a tank :D ):

Already fitted some Team Heko wind deflectors:

And swapped to the red badge at the front (rest to follow):

Got some plans for the near future:

Abarth lights all round
Smoked side repeaters
Refurbing the alloys (pretty bad curbing) and possibly resprayed white
Eibach Sportlines
Tinted rear windows
Convert to red badges all round
White mirror caps if I go for the white alloys

...plus whatever else the future holds but for now thanks for looking and let me know what you think!

Nice car! (y)
Them abarth headlights really do set it off. You thought of getting a badgeless grill or do you prefer the red badges?

Thanks! :) yeah I'm really happy with the lights...as for the grill I was planning on going badgeless but once the red ones are on I think I like them more, for now at least (y)

Don't Go badgeless it doesn't look quite right to me on a black GP. I would get a black grill though.
But lovely car mate get white alloys?
Thanks, going to get the alloys refurbed and sprayed up white rather than fork out loads for a new set, also haven't really seen any I like yet. Where can I get a black grill from, ive seen the linea grill but don't think it will make much difference being black on black and all

Don't go linea looks tacky in my opinion many people will disagree but I prefer fiats to stay as standard as they can be. And well eBay have black grills for like £20 try there. Or if not paint it yourself? And good will look nice with the white alloys

I agree tbh, the GP is a stunning car standard, just needs a couple of personal touches to make it stand out. Think I've got a bit of matte black spray kicking around somewhere, might give it a go :)

Just a little update on the car, a month gone and I'm still loving her, a pleasure to drive...just need a bit more power! Already got my eyes on the Abarth for a couple of years time

Couple of issues though: I hit a massive pothole a couple of weeks back and ever since there's been a 'boing' kind of noise when turning the wheel at low speeds. Thought it was my tyres rubbing as they were low on pressure and tread so changed them and its still there. So had a little look on here and diagnosed it as my strut top bearings...?? A mate said it could have cracked a spring though so not sure...

Anyway I made the most of the nice weather recently and gave her a good clean and polish

only for the dust to settle and the car to be filthy again within half an hour :(

Also been having major problems trying to get my iphone 5 to connect to blue and me, I only want to listen to music from it but bought the adapter and still no luck!

Only other news is that I've booked my wheels in for a full refurb and spray up So she'll be looking spick and spam in no time! :)
