I was wondering why the fuel consumption was quite bad....

Seems I have the usual fill up and watch it pour out on the floor syndrome...

I'm not too sure if I have the right filler neck anyway, as the filler cap is more MK2 than MK1 when compared to Gavin's or other MK1's...

The sender appears to be rubbish as well....shows empty but must have a tenders worth left in the tank as filling up is £30... Still I have a nice new one to fit..

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that due to a change of plans on Kev's part, Charlie the VIP has passed into my tender care. :worship:

Thanks for the lift Kev (y)

He seems to drive well, and I will keep an eye on the bodywork. As Kev had decided, Charlie's going to be left as is at the moment, although at some point there is going to be bodywork needed on the rear wheelarches and front wings in particular. He's just going to be used and we'll see what needs doing in the future.

Yes I know, I only just got rid of one to Vernon, but what can you do when a mk1 is offered???!!!.........

Very happy that Gavin has taken on Charlie. I couldn't image him going anywhere else.

This was very much a keeper, but it looks likely that we will be off on our travels. We left our job and may take another...or just start traveling next year. It's a bit earlier than we planned. I didn't think I could justify storing him for what will be quite along time.

Still can't believe his gone as I really bonded with the car, but I had to think with my head and not my heart.
