Greetings Fiatists, I am new to the forum and I hope somebody out there will have encountered this phenomenon already; when I corner at speed, I get a dashboard message and a discreet but irritating noise warning me of low oil pressure, a suggestion that I make my peace with God and a hint that my beloved Stilo will self destruct sometime very soon. Local dealership say top up the oil (gee, I would never have thought of THAT one) otherwise deny all knowledge. Whats going on?

If it's only momentary when cornering hard in one direction, then it's almost certainly because all the oil is sloshing away from the level sensor due to centrifugal force. Not likely to cause any problems, as long as there's enough of the right oil in there somewhere.

It shouldn't do it if the oil level is correct ;)

You have way too low oil level. You have to drive extremely enthusiastic, (even with little oil) to generate this warning. If you drive like "a little old lady" and still get this message, you must pour some oil into the engine - today.
