Nice pics but uncharacteristically short on words.

Fortunately I've seen this one in the flesh and can confirm it's a very nice little Panda. With a couple of new doors it would be even better!

Re: Fizzle :)

Shamefully apart from a new battery and a coolant flush I haven't done anything with her apart from a good polish.

She's due to be MOT'd very shortly and she will fail on fuel tank strap which is broken. I plan to replace the metal strap with seat belt webbing as suggested by forum members. Just one problem, I can't get under her, I have no jacks, stands, ramps to use. Is there anyone within a couple of hours of me who can lend a hand to keep Fizzle on the road? I can come to you if anyone can help. Otherwise I'll just have to cough up for the garage to sort it

Re: Fizzle :)

Find an old school mot place & speak to the old style mot tester in advance. Ask if he'd sort it for a drink when mot'ing - the way of the world & much easier (or am I just getting old?!).

How do you go about finding such a place?
I wonder if a sign outside which said "Old school MOT tester in residence" would grab all the business in the area?
Or would the DVLA shut him down?
It would be nice to think the former.

Re: Fizzle :)

@purple haze Yes I have an untested jack, perhaps the mk3 one would be safer though I'm not getting under a car held up by 20year old italian metal.
@Palio Good idea, they've done the exhaust and brake pipes already, it was the tester who told me it would fail the MOT with rotted straps, might have another word, he seems a decent enough bloke.

The garage is always busy and there's two others in the area. Not seen any taxi's waiting for work though, always a good sign of reasonableness

Re: Fizzle :)

Fitted a cinquecento rear view mirror/light assembly, I now have an anti-dazzle switch

I must remember to ask MEP if I should inform my insurance company

In service related news, ordered oil + filter + air filter for grand total of 18.48 delivered

If she passes MOT she gets a treat, if she fails SORN awaits.....

Re: Fizzle :)

Thanks to @Dragon Man I now am a little bit closer to passing the blessed MOT, also quite possibly saved my life!

John very kindly replaced the rotten fuel tank strap with seat belt webbing, unfortunately as with all Panda's one job leads to another as John discovered a corroded brake line which he also replaced. A corroded rear shocker is next on the list when one is sourced

I would have been faced with a massive garage bill for this work and I'm very grateful to John for doing this work for me.

We also found time to fell a very large tree in the neighbours garden....

Oh and after finding the old MOT (in a Haynes manual of course) I have until May 12th to get Fizzle ready for the inspector Phew!

So relieved I've taxed Fizzle for 6 months this morning.

We've covered 500 miles this weekend running faultlessly what more do you want from a 18 year old car?

Yep Fizzle was first registered 28.03.1994 so still a teenager despite me saying 20 this year

Are you sure that's not a DeLorean, then, under that red paint...?

PS: Just think how much better Back to the Future would have been with a classic Panda....

Re: Fizzle :)

It was a pleasure to meet Fizzle yesterday - John was there too Nice to see you John.

Fizzle is better than I expected & nice and shiny - think CLS has been talking it down!!

@homeward great to meet you too - could you post any Panda pics into this section by any chance? "When Fizzle met Howie" or something as a thread? I could ask you to send them to me & I'll do it, but that's probably adding a stage - many thanks
