Panda (Classic) '88 Panda 4x4 SR

Introduction

:)

Hi all,
Thought I should start my own thread for my little Panda. As you all know, Richard (Urchin) was the previous owner and he really took care of this car. It's running beautifully and has 124k on the clock. At some point in its life, it's had a replacment engine and gearbox with lower mileage. The body work is in excellent condition, with just a few minor things that need some attention. I have a huge stack of bills, tax discs and MOTs showing the cars history.

MOT is due in February and I have no doubts that it will pass.

For these pictures, I gave the car a quick wash and wax, so please ignore the white marks on the plastics:D

TO DO
- Roof paintwork needs attention
- New front wiper (Flat blade upgrade?)
- Blistering on bottom of passenger door
- Waxoyl to be applied to EVERYTHING underneath
- Fabric roof to be thoroughly cleaned
- Replacement 4x4 rims (coming soon from aquamarine, needing refurb) - for winter use

It is a beautiful example and will be attending Autoitalia Stanford Hall this year.
Car is on the ramps for its MOT. I'm a bit nervous now as on the way to the test centre, front mudflap decided to unhinge itself!!! Luckily I had a 10mm socket on me to put it back on lol!!
Wish me luck!! :)

Not enough luck Jamie, it failed! :(

N/S and O/S ball joints, and handbrake not efficient enough.

Advisories: suspension arm bushes deteriorating and rear wheel bearings have slight play.

My local motor factors thankfully had ball joints, shoes and springs all on the shelf!! Will get these fitted ready for retest.

Anyone know where i can get hold of suspension arm bushes? ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1367238052.803978.jpg

Cable itself is fine. I reckon the shoes will be alright, but thought seeing as I'm taking it all off anyway, it would be better to replace with new. He said it could need minor adjustment, but it wasn't expensive for all new springs. As for the suspension arms, absolutely I'll be replacing the complete arms. :)

Yeah I've had slight play in rear bearings as advisory on a couple of 4x4's too, but the bearings themselves have always been fine.

I've got plenty of arms if you're stuck James, and ball joints in carriers for 4x4's in case you have trouble there too. ;)

Sorry I missed your call, are you sorted now?

PM sent, thanks again. I am very interested in both! :)
