Grande Punto Julietta - The Funky Blue 1.2

Introduction

Hey folks! :)

I've been lurking for a while and posting only recently as I am now the proud owner of a charming Italian whipper snapper in the form or a 2006 1.2 8V Grande Punto. Came with just 40,000 miles and has it's full service history, all keys, all logs and receipts, documentation and was NCT'd (MOT'd) just 50KM before I got her! She's just been treated to a full winter service and new gearbox seals as well. Below is a small photoshop of some plans, I just really love the Alfa wheels but they won't fit.

After chatting to another member 'Wisey' about what I've done to the car - I decided it would be best to create a thread to show my progress since I'm going to be doing a tonne of bits and bobs over the next 2-3 months. So far I have bought / done the following:

* Fitted Chrome 501 Indicator Bulbs
* Fit Custom Fit Grande Punto Mats
* Added Aux-In Cable for Blaupunkt
* Changed to White LED Interior Bulb
* Changed to White LED Boot Bulb
* Replace the Heater Controls Bulbs
* Taxed and Insured the Beast :p

I bought Error-Free LED's for the reg place and boot but the cough up the dashboard error so I'm getting load resistors soon as you'll see below. I also change the 501's to a white LED and they looked great but gradually reduce and go off so I have a full Xenon Kit coming soon. Shame, they looked great:

Coming to me in the next weeks is...

* Yatour SD / USB / Aux Virtual CD Changer
* 501 Canbus Error-Free 13 SMD LED's
* Load Resistors for said Canbus LED's
* 2 x Red Fiat Badges for Front and Back (in case I don't debadge).
* Full Xenon Headlight Kit for the Grande Punto
* 4 x White LED Strips for Footwells / Boot
* 2 x Antislip Phone / Keys Holders for Console
* 2 x Front Fog Lights for Grande Punto

And from Micks Garage because it's the best one for OEM looks and fitting:

* Black Fiat Adjustable Armrest (soon to be Aux-In housing)

And in the New Year...

* Coilovers / springs + 205/45/R17 Alloys
* Debaging the Boot (just "Punto")
* Debaged Front Grill (and maybe black reg vinyl)
* Carbon Effect or Spray Interior Dashboard
* Full Paint Polish and Wax (to remove a few scuffs)

Finally, going to try and custom make some sort of mold / mount at the useless cup holders to hold my phone:

Thanks for looking guys - I love this place already (y)
Can anybody tell me the spec name of the plastic circle screws that hold on the hard carpet at the back of your engine bay? I'm missing like 4 or 5 of them but have no idea of the technical term for them. Thanks!

Pay day yesterday so I'm naturally broke today ;)

Ordered new wheel arch liners + clips / screws because mine are loose and rubbing off the tyres (clips were €30 from a dealer in the UK), new top dash vent trim because it's lifted, mirror screw cover because after I tightened the mirror itself - it fell off (whoops) and new clean scratch free reg plates and H4 Xenon lights + 501's that are clear instead of blue to top it off. Also have the rear window cable / regulator to change and the new red Fiat badge for the back.

Finally, I've found alloys I like and that I think ya'll will approve of for the GP - just gotta wait until next pay day :).

Auto pulita! Also changed to new chrome indicator bulbs since the last ones blew quickly (I "may" have forgot to use gloves) :D

PS: My Stilo alloys shall be fitted soon ;)

PPS: Just ordered new springs for the front (one is snapped) but not making the jump to lowering until I fit the wheels.

And she's gone! The funky blue was a super drive since last October, handling 15,000 motorway and city driving miles without a hitch. I picked it up at 43K miles and it asked me of a regular service of course as well as...

* Wheel arch liners
* Drop links
* Top mounts
* Coil springs
* Dash vent

My missus thinks that it mad that all those needed changing but thats nonsesne, all are regular serviceable parts and more importantly - cheap! The car was in PWO for the new owner (17 year old girl's first car and she loved it) and I lost nothing on the car, sold exactly for the cost of it a year ago so I'm well pleased with it.

Ironically, I finally got OEM wheels the week before I sold it so I treated the car to a tracking / balancing and new Bosch wipers before she went on her way.

This has been a super forum to be on, endless amount of guides and information and best to luck to anyone who has a GP or is going to get one - people say you need to own an Alfa to be a car guy? Nope, I think you need a Fiat (and this was my second). The GP may have been a rattly, shaky feck but it always put a smile on my face to drive it and it's user base makes perfect sense.

PS: After a 1.6 HDI 110BHP engine now, let the hunt begin! Who knows, I may end up with a sporting in a few years time ;)
