Bravo MEP's Bravo Dynamic MultiJet Dualogic

Introduction

Thought it was about time to show the world my latest acquisition properly after my ‘Thinking of buying a Bravo thread’.

I present my ‘2008 Bravo Dynamic MultiJet Dualogic’ – a bit of a mouthful that!

One of only 84 in the UK (as of Q1 2012) under its registered title of 'Bravo Dynamic M-Jet S-A', although there are 67 'Bravo Dynamic Mjet120 S-A' registered, so she's one of 151 Automatic Diesel Bravo's in the UK. No idea as to how many are as highly spec'ed as this one though :slayer:

Purchased just over a month ago, and I’ve already done 3500miles in her.

She’s fairly well spec’ed with some of the following optional extra’s;
· Bi-xenon HIDs
· Reverse Parking Sensors
· Glass roof / sunroof
· Tinted rear windows
· 17inch Alloys over the standard 16inch
· Dualogic gearbox

No real mods planed, but have already fitted myself some DRL’s, as I do with all of my cars, and am looking at getting a tow bar and eventually a roof rack. I've already purchased some 16" steelies ready for my winter tyres in a few months.

She’s been maintained to a very high standard by the previous owner, with a full (German) Fiat Service History to date, new Contential tyres all round about 300 miles before purchase, and she’s even still got her under tray in place (I always thought that dealers reclaimed these on 1st services??! :p).

I’m looking forward to munching up the motorway miles, although hope to improve my current average of 50.5mpg.

A few pics of her on her madden voyage to Wales after purchase.

At least it's out the country, I still check members motors on the swift forum to see if my ragged to fook and previously accident damaged swift turns up...not so far thankfully although it was sold at a local dealer.

Yep, I had been checking autotrader and eBay for a while to see if it'd turn up. Was only on checking for the 4th time if it was taxed I noticed the export marker, not sure if it'd been on there from the 1st check and I hadn't notice, but defo gone now.

Having had run ins myself with the same dealer, I'm really not supprised with anything you've said, this was the same dealer who tried to con me out of £120 to do a job I didn't want them to do before they would sell me a part which they claimed only they could fit (airbag wiring loom fix) a part that cost £8, after getting fiat UK involved they relented and gave in but as a result my name is now very much mud

Could you not still push forward with a claim for the initial £700 for the unnesessary gearbox work as they did in effect state that it wasn't the problem and admitted the issue was there own mistake?

I must admit I'm very reluctant to replace any of our cars with newer fiats purely down to all the customer service issues and the really poor waratees they offer.

That's why we bought the mini, they literally can't do enough to help, because they understand happy customers come back and buy more cars

They claim the slave was weeping, so needed changing anyway. I've retained all the old parts, and although not tested, I don't believe them tbh. No visible contamination on the clutch. But again its down to hassle of paying to get a report to state this.

This is the exact reason I'm now a Toyota owner. Decent warranty and dealerships who actually treat you with the service and respect you should expect when spending tens of thousands of pounds.

Funny enough, went with parents today to test drive a Yaris hybrid (to replace mums 190k miles mk1 Yaris which is getting on a bit now at 13.5 years old), mentioned I'd got a Prius plug in and they were all too obliging in plugging it in and charging it for me while we were out in the Yaris. It's the little things like that which make a difference.

Jesus jon I just read this thread though (took a few minutes :p) that's a hell of a journey you went though. And such a lovely looking car aswell can't beleive after all that it was still never sorted :( you would think you could rely on a main dealer to help you out but it seems all they did is take your money!

This may sound a silly question but does car insurance cover stuff like that?

Unfortunately not, standard car insurance never covers wear and tear.

An extended warranty etc might well have covered it all, but its the risk I suppose one takes with cars, and with the mileage I do, and the cost of extended warranty as a result its something I've never bothered with personally.

It's a shame, because it really was a bloody good car when it worked, but I suppose all things happen for a reason :(

True but it's a double blow - the car letting you down and the dealer aswell. It's scary how the costs mount up
