Punto (Mk2/2b) Meet Bumble-Bee

Introduction

Meet Bumble bee
replacing my beloved but now scrapped Mk2 Blue punto

Needs some bits doing to it - but i never leave cars alone anyway :)

So here he is
2004 on a 53 plate
58K
Yellow Active Sport (8v engine)
Alloys - nice grey interior and generally nice tidy motor that needs a little more tlc to make him better :)

So what has been done so far? Well its got a fairly new backbox - but middle pipe went, replaced under its warrenty

Given him a darn good clean and wash, but lasts all of 5 mins been yellow :(

Pulled all the roof gutter seals out and cleaned the rubbish out from there
Also had the windows screen trim rubber and cleaned all around there :)

what i wanna do is get everything cleaned up, tidy alot up
add a few features i want back in :)

But here we go :)

So i did the roof gutters - they were really really ready.... which means all the cack runs down the rear lights.....

So out they come

once you have done a proper minting of the outside and used something like autosmart mirror finish polish topped off with autosmart aqua you will find it stays clean much longer:)

nice straight car by the way

Well another Little update

Old ""chrome number plate surrounds"" off the mk2 punto

No longer shiny, no longer nice

Nice example. I like the yellow but personally i think black suits the mk2b's the best! I think it needs some toning down with some black like you have already done with the number plate surrounds otherwise a very clean well looked after car.

nice to see it has the factory bass boost, havent had a 2b for ages with one in

Ah you noticed the subwoofer :)

Well it didnt come with it actually.... Shame i know
it was always meant for the mk2, but i never got to fitting it
So Mk2b got it instead
Fitted but NOT wired up :(

Funds dont allow at this moment in life
Eitherway - its out my room now and isn't been knocked about

Ziggy

Looking good!
Keep an eye on those areas susceptible to rust treat them now before any problems develop.

I've noticed a few little spots appearing on the underside of my 2004 cars so it's worth doing

I bet you're a mk2b convert now, especially having a sporting model

The mk2 will always have a soft spot in my heart

But the mk2b is a much better replacement, its like that new pair of trainers you've always wanted, where as the old mk2 is the slippers you refuse to throw away

the mk2b is soo peppy - it better on fuel and i love the sporty looks

Mk2b ftw for now :) hehe

when the weather finally dries up
its getting a kitchen brush scrub and clean and dry - before been waxyoil'd up to give another stop chip layer

the sills are the killers
- so there going to be done properly

the car needs a proper clean tho

Ziggy

no
killer is
rear floor pans
offside /nearside rear chassis where it meets back valance
floors to sill if not maintained
if caught early before rust gets in then all it needs it a tube of grease smearing on these places and topped up once a year as the grease keeps everything from drying out
