Hi folks! Can someone help me out? I was asked to undo the oil-sump-plug on my mates cinquecento. After trying to undo the the 12mm allen key nut, the whole plug came loose [washer type sleeve that the sump nut goes into]. After draining the oil out. I tried to see if the whole sump plug sleeve would fit in. It does but it's loose and when oil is put back in it drips out. It wont tighten up. Does anyone know if this can be repaired without having to re-fit a whole new sump casing? Thnaks

is the sump metal or alloy,if it was metal it could be braised off the car.only needing a sump gasket or a tube of silicone sealant .

the sump is metal. The sump is still on the car. Its the nut & the sleeve/washer that's come out of the actual sump, leaving a hole in the sump.
The 12mm allen key nut is threaded into like a big washer that then was plugging up the sump drain hole.

Thanks for all the advice People. I think it will have to be a new sump & sump-plug as the plug is well and truly ceased inside the sleeve and not in very good condition (rounded off in the inside).
Is it a awkward job to remove/replace the sump?

It'd be a shame to weld the sleeve back in there and then find you still can't get the plug out.

See if you can get the plug out of the sleeve first. Your fella with the welding kit may be able to weld a steel rod to it, to use as a handle to unscrew it.

If the beast comes out of the sleeve, then you can give welding the sleeve back onto the sump a go... but fit a new sump plug afterwards.

I thought it would only be a 5 min job to undo the sump nut (n). 3 days later....
