yeh they were mint then lacquered them and they went really matte so sanded them down and polished them up but was no way near shiny so just gave it another coat but just my look it was low on paint and started to spit. I was getting annoyed with it all so this will do for now got some paint left over to do it again :D. Yours look really good too did you use spray gun or rattle can?

haha i know what you mean I was getting so impatient between coats and then it started to rain  and I used rattle cans primer, colour and clear I got the colour from "Autopaints Brighton" if I remember right.

good job with the handles. mine have started peeling about 7 months on :( really dont fancy doing them again. Used laquer etc but still peeling :(

dude that sucks:cry: thats the one thing I am worried about as they do take a fair amount of time to do and like you dont fancy doing them again. We shall have to wait and see, might give them another coat of clear if they need it in the future.

I used similar stuff called dynamat, works excellent even with speakers loud.

who you insured with? i switched to adrian flux purely so I could lower my car etc...and because they actually know what 'lowering' means.

so you've:

vinyled grille
alloys
painted handles
wind deflectors

anything else?

yeh ive heard of that too. might try this stuff sounds good.

so far ive got:

exterior:
vinyled grille
de badged grille
gloss pillars
debadged punto
red style badge on rear
pressed plated
sunstrip

Interior:
carbon wrapped dash
upgrade front speakers
custom sub box
wrapped door cards

im currently insured with lv and they wont let lower till 21. ive found some but they are coming back at like 3-4 grand. when i can get it without springs for just over 1 grand

if im honest, other than a custom backbox or something, lowering should be next IMO.

Unless you have any engine plans, or is that a no go with insurance etc lol?

A cheap but subtle mod is to change to red fiat badge on the grille?

regarding insurance, have you rang anybody? quotes are highly inaccurate e.g. I got stupid prices when I was insured with bell but I found once I had got insured, it was only a few hundred to insure, as oppose to a couple of grand.

LV and similar insurance companies do not understand what lowering does, they believe it will turn your car into some sort of supercar with the cornering abilities of an f1 car, they slap a premium on because it puts you in 'that lad sort of category' - I quote from a call to Bell.

Companies like adrian flux on the other hand, know what you are talking about and their price reflects this e.g. they sent me out a form and i filled in the exact brand and height of my coils, rather than just being branded as 'lowered'...because of the height and expense i paid for the coils, it cost me nothing on my premium

ive not rang anyone yet as not due till 23rd sept so will ring up closer to date, ive got number for brentacre who are supposed to be good with modded cars as can set bhp limits with cosmetic mods and mechanical at no extra cost. i have always fancied a decat and back box but due to me having to pay for own insurance and my age money is tight

im thinking about wrapping roof gloss black, and i didnt think those shark fins were very good? thats another thing forgot to mention got red calipers, dont really like tinted lights as i think they blend in better on red cars and always wanted some brighter whiter lights but i think people find it hard to get the right ones that actually work without bringing up canbus error but i think theres a few things to look into, can get vinyl for roof for about £20 as im a dab hand at wrapping (y)

sound deadening arrived this morning which i was suprised at saying i only ordered it on thursday. so got that done this morning front and back what a ballache the backs were. worth it tho sounds a lot better, put some silicone around the speaker mesh on the front doorcards to stop them moving and all is good :D:D:D

got that problem sorted, drained and filled back up with clean water and screen wash. now another question...... which oil is best for 1.4 8v and how much would i need if i were to drain old and put new in?

thanks ryan

Have a look in your handbook mate it will tell you in there.
