Grande Punto My new Grande Punto 1.6 16v

Introduction

Hello to everybody, I'm new around here so I wanted to introduce myself, I'm Federico, I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and this is my Fiat Punto (here is called just "Punto" without the "Grande") 1.6 16v 115 HP.

I hope you like it! my best regards.

Awesome, welcome to FF firstly!

My aunty lives in Buenos Aires, beautifull part of Argentina.

Any plans for tweaking your P (rather than GP) hehe. Looks nice, love the colour.

Thanks Wisey! I don't have many plans yet, we'll see! :D

james, here it comes with the 1.4 8v Fire, and this 1.6 16v called "E.Torq". For a little while it came with the 1.3 16v multijet diesel, but it doesn't anymore.

Very nice!

Bet its horrendous on fuel though!
Thanks! Yes, it's a little thirsty, but when I go easy with the right foot, it's not thaaaat bad. Anyway my previous car was a 1997 VW with an old 1.8 8v engine (similar with the one from the Golf MK3) with just 87 HP, so the Punto is a more economical and powerful.

Seems this 1.6 engine is made in the old factory that made the engines for the first gen bmw minis. Also apparently looseley based on that engine to.
Exactly! That's correct.

From Wikipedia:

The E.TorQ is a family of automobile engines produced by Fiat in Campo Largo, Brazil in the ex Tritec factory.

The E.TorQ series replaced the old General Motors 1.8 X18XE engine adopted by Brazilian Fiat vehicles and the old 1.9 Torque engine adopted by Fiat Linea. The E.torQ engines were based on the discontinued Tritec engines but with an investment of 83 million of euros Fiat Powertrain Technologies re-engineering the previus engine and has launched a news series of technology. The engine block has cylinder head fittings separate from the cylinder jackets. The threads are positioned in the upper part of the das water jackets and the connections between the jackets and the outside were kept apart from the cylinder head fittings. The 80% of the torque was available at 1.500 rpm and the 93% of torque was available at 2.500 rpm.

The new family of E.TorQ engine was composed by two variants: the 1.6 16V 117 HP and the more powerful 1.8 16V E.TorQ 132 HP avilable in flexyfuel (petrol or ethanol) version. E.TorQ is a result of over 500.000 hours of projects, 5 millions of kilometres and 1.200 prototypes and pre-roduction version.

Production of E.torQ engine began in 2011 and was used in the following Brazilian cars: Fiat Punto, Palio, Siena, Strada, Idea, Linea, Bravo and Doblò.

someones stolen your side repeaters

but given you a standard boot lock with a key hole
LOL, yes, it doesn't come with side repeaters... I don't know why, maybe it's not mandatory by local laws or something like that, and/or to save costs :(, don't know... Thieves here prefer stealing alloy wheels not side repeaters :D, I have antitheft locks on those 16", but anyway it's not 100% theft proof...

The boot lock is really annoying, that's true, I have to open it from the button on the side of the driver's seat or manually with the key.
