Panda (Classic) My 88 Sisely.

Introduction

Well here’s my Panda (Holly) I saved from the scrap-yard, thanks to a post in Auction watch by Si (Pandamonius Maximus). It’s been sprayed matt black and the front suspension’s been raised / bodged up ridiculously. I’m hoping to re-spray it its original maroon eventually but get the running gear and any welding sorted first.

It seems to be pretty solid and everything’s there even a passable parcel shelf.

Here's the front strut with the makeshift spacer

Now I’ve made a start I’ve made a preliminary list of what I’m going to need to get me moving, most of which I think will be new parts but some I’ve managed to pick up second hand from members on here, Thanks to Purple Haze, Aquamarine and the Fiat Forum for help so far.

Rear struts

Outer CV Joint boots
Rear silencer & mounts

Re: My 88 Sisely

By the look of it, add a spare wheel, 10 litres of Gunk, 5 paint brushes, plasters and a new battery!

Re: My 88 Sisely

Ah ok, didn't know that - how do we know it's an original one, or have I missed it in a thread? (y)

The main way to tell from the pic in this thread is the interior, it has a cream one which only the early Sisleys had, the later ones are grey. However there are some photos about which show that it is an E reg. All the Mk1 Sisleys were either D or E reg, the later ones were F,G,H and J reg.

Mine has this interior, let me know if you need anything Anthony, I'm having to break it and won't be using everything myself.

Good luck with bringing this one back from the brink (y).

Thanks for all the comments/info chaps,

Yep I think I'll probably need that and more :) Although it has got a spare wheel.

Nice to know the speedo is correct, I really wouldn't have known how to tell other than what I've been told on here ie as its an E reg 1988 it's an early Sisely.

Re parts, Thanks VmanC I'll PM you about that. :)

Hopefully more pics to follow shortly (y)

Re: My 88 Sisely

Found a bit of old crash damage on the nearside inner wing. Although it looks quite bad the damage seems to be above the front lower cross member which looks to be still strait so only affecting the inner wing. I intend removing the front panel now so I can get a good look at it. Hopefully this will make it easier to repair and also give me better access to fix the rust hole in the offside inner wing. :)
