Grande Punto My Grande Punto "Winston"

Introduction

Hello All,

I have been a member on the forum for a few months and been reading the site most days, I only passed my test in September 2011 and got my GP at the end of September 2011. Please take a look at my GP and please give me some ideas as to what mods I should undertake to next.

Please note I already plan to have the following done:-

1) Lower the back and front.
2) Install a K&N 57I Induction Kit (depending on the feedback I get from you guys.
3) Chrome upper and lower front grille.
4) X-one roof spoiler.

Any other mods anyone can think of that would make my GP look the best it can look would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Stephen
Comments taken on board, any chance of being pointed in the right direction to go if my suggested ideas are strong dislikes?

Regards
Stephen

Haha no you are going in the right direction and all you plans sound good just the roof spoiler is a bit over the top.:)

like you said lowering is a must and will make the car look and drive much better, the best thing I have done to my car is lower it.
Abarth (black) headlamps would make the car very tidy.
As for the chrome grille if its the genuine fiat one I think it would look really nice especially with your body colour.(y)

Sorry to jump in on your thread, but just wanted to ack about lowering when I saw this comment.

I was thought loweing was to do with making the car look nicer, but is it true the car drivers better when lower?

The car will roll less in the corners due to the stiffer springs, and along with a lower centre of gravity it will corner much better. The downside is that on anything but a smooth road the ride quality is slightly reduced, more bumpy and jolty (if thats a word)

Can you not just fit strut braces?

Strut braces wont do a thing on a standard car, they only make sure the suspension geometry is constant during cornering (therefore keeping the alignment correct and helping to increase steering feel and turn in. On standard suspension you wont notice a thing, you could however fit uprated anti-roll bars which would help cornering. But in the end you cant beat a good set of lowering springs/dampers or coilovers

Evening All,

These are the chrome grilles I am looking at, if anyone has an opinnion good or bad please share it.

1. Get rid of the cheap, tacky aftermarket wheels.
2. Don't put ANYTHING chrome on the car. Rancid.
3. Lol is that a blue exhaust tip?
4. Lol @ the spoiler idea
5. Put some Eleganza or m/t jet wheels on it
6. Avoid any body modifications of any kind, maybe an Active Sport 'spoiler' might work.
7. The headlights look okay.

Hi there Magic Johnson, your points, 1-7 are these all hardcore facts that pretty much all of ideas are either cheap, tacky, rancid or okay? this being a forum in all I guess I leave myself open to both positives and negatives and I accept that. It just seams to be that certain members come on this forum just to criticise people.

Well thanks for your input Magic Johnson and I am so pleased I have been able to bring a few lols to you tonight.

I appreciate your comments, time and thought. I am not saying my ideas are wonderful. This is the reason I thought maybe posting on a forum such as this to get some ideas, given the fact I haven't been driving long and I haven't owned my car all that long either.

That being said, thanks for your opinnions.

Hey, ideas are meant to be shared and discussed accordingly before put in to place.

You have definitely done the right thing by asking first (apart from the wheels and the exhaust tip).

Best reason to get rid of the wheels? They don't stand up well at all against potholes. I work for a road maintenance firm and the amount of claims put in that get rejected because the pothole is nowhere near bad enough to be claimed against, just the cheapo wheels couldn't stand up to 'em.
