Grande Punto My Grande Punto "Winston"

Introduction

Hello All,

I have been a member on the forum for a few months and been reading the site most days, I only passed my test in September 2011 and got my GP at the end of September 2011. Please take a look at my GP and please give me some ideas as to what mods I should undertake to next.

Please note I already plan to have the following done:-

1) Lower the back and front.
2) Install a K&N 57I Induction Kit (depending on the feedback I get from you guys.
3) Chrome upper and lower front grille.
4) X-one roof spoiler.

Any other mods anyone can think of that would make my GP look the best it can look would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
Stephen
Points firmly taken and I agree. I bought a cheap set of alloys simply because I couldnt stand the plastic and steel wheel that were on the car that a side I didnt wish to pay £0000s for a set of fiat/abarth alloys to run up the side of curbs etc. TBH I dont think the wheels look all that bad I quite like them TBH.

As for the exhaust tip, its been on the car since I got it. I have never really thought about it TBH it is what it is and serves a purpose for the time being.

At the end of the day we all have our own mindsets and thoughts and likes and dislikes.

I think the wheels are ok for the car and will lOok alot better when u lower it. If you like them then you keep them. Like u said, any alloy better than a 14 inch steel.

Just the exhaust tip I can criticise on mate. But I see nothing at all tacky

Small request, can anyone advise to a non tacky, cheap exhaust tip for my GP? Further, I am also looking to have the car lowered in the near future can anyone advise as to the best parts to use?

Regards

Stephen

Most common springs used are the eibach sportlines, most people chose them or splash out on coilovers. As for the exhaust tip i dont know what the setup is, i would save up and get a backbox fitted or just take the tip off back to standard

Ok, when you say splash out on coilovers, how much are we talking? Also, do you have any links to some abarth backboxs?

As for the Abarth back-box there is one in the classifieds if still available give the guy a PM

Secondly depends on how much you want to spend and how much quality you want when in comes to coilovers can get a cheap set-up for £200ish or a high quality set for anything up to 900 and more!

Expect to pay around £400-500 on the other hand Eibach sportlines cost about £120 new and are a great quality spring as said before.

At the end of the day it depends on what look/performance you are looking for and how much you are wiling to pay.(y)

hope this helped:p

Ignore Magic Johnson, he seems to be constantly on his period ;)

Personally I'd get rid of the exhaust tip and the chrome on the boot.

Lowering it definitely will make an instant/massive improvement.

20% (or as many people say 80%) tints on the rear 3 windows?

Abarth Evo/Standard sporting spoiler?

Cupra R splitter?

Debadged Grill?

I sprayed my rear badge (apart from the silver outline) gloss black and looks decent, i need to get a picture up at some point.

The main question is how much are you willing to spend?

Thanks for that mate, I agree that before I get anything else done to the car lowering has to be the next thing done. I can get the springs for £140.00 with postage. I have rang my mechanic who installed the induction kit for me and he says that he can fit them for £80.00 is this reasonable?

thanks

stephen

Further, I am not sure whether to go for the sportlines or the prokit for the lowering springs, there is only £10.00 of a difference. Any advice would be great as I would like to get them ordered today.

save your money to get a powerflow or remus or a custom exhaust mate just dont waste your money on that :)

Hi All,

Springs ordered and car is booked in to have them installed, what mod should I look to next after having the car lowered as I am torn between getting the chrome fiat grills or going for a back box.

Good Evening all,

Having been looking for a few days for an exhaust/backbox set up for my GP this is the best looking one todate IMO. Can I please have your thoughts on this as it is not cheap and will cost £462.00 supplied and fitted.

Do janspeed not do punto exhausts?

Never had a problem with mine on my old car

I take it that is for a full exhaust system including manifold then?
You could take it to powerflow in Stafford who have a good rep, they would probably put a back box on for under 150 quid

@ Gym, te price is for the backbox exhaust tip and valve system. Rather pricey IMO I hvae been ringing around today but not much help from local places in Newcastle TBH.

I would try Powerflow in Stafford then, might go by another name but they are deffinately there. You dont need a system with a valve in - just a straight forward cat back would be perfect
