Grande Punto My 56 Grande Punto. Needs mods..

Introduction

Hey guys,

Had my Grande Punto for around 3 months now and looking for some suggestions for mods. I want to go for some mods that'll make it look a bit more 'slick' but nothing that says "chav" lol.

I have a few ideas in mind but the first thing I'm going to change is the wheels! I'm thinking 17" alloys, but I'm not sure which. You guys got any ideas?

So far I'm thinking:

- 17" Alloys
- 35% tint all round
- Chrome handles, chrome exhaust tip, chrome mirrors
- Front fog lights (xenon)
- Change stock lights to dayline or xenon conversion kit
- Rear led lights ([www.amazon.co.uk/FK-Automotive-Tail...1_fkmr1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1325968148&sr=8-3-fkmr1)
- New front bumper ([www.amazon.co.uk/Genuine-Grande-Pun..._1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1325968194&sr=1-1)

Suggestions from you guys would be appreciated as I am a newbie atm :p

Cheers :'D

:yeahthat:
Check for cupra splitter...cheap and simple mod.
The rear lights are also beautifull ( i use those too...)
The xenon fog lights would help...in...well...nothing actually. I made that mistake too, and i regret it every time i run through myst. IMO skip that idea and spend that money on something better.

All mods sound good, although bear in mind that aftermarket HID's from now are MOT fails (y)just get xenon bulbs, which are far better than standard

17's, lowering, tinting and a splitter are what I have planned for my car externally for now :) all pretty subtle and not chavvy or halfordsy IMO

Aren't xenon lights supposed to help when going through mist?

Is there anyway to get xenon lights without aftermarket kits? (Other than xenon-like bulbs).

Guess it's time to purchase some new bulbs! Any you recommend?

Well i have the halfords top end performance ones, they were about £23 each but on permanent buy one get one free, very white light and much better than standard bulbs :) and then I have the MTEC sidelight bulbs, also very white although light output isnt huge, they are more for show than anything.

Xenon bulbs fitted, much better than stock bulbs! Ordered some MTEC Sidelights too! :slayer:

Just wondering, will I be able to fit fog lights without it being classed as a mod that needs declaring to the insurance company?

Jamie (y)

You'll probably find if you fit them and declare them the insurance company won't care anyway.

As for the mods, my cars is the same colour as your's, check my members motors thread to see the mods I've done.

Hey, I just joined the forum. I have exactly the same car as you, and smokyjoe, originally came looking for ICE advice, but now found so much inspiration for stuff I want to do. Had a Seat Ibiza before my GP, which I'd modded, Looking forward to starting again now. :D

I'd say put a little roof spoiler on it and some skirts. Pretty subtle but will make a big difference to the look. You could get it striped up, nicer alloys and paint the calipers. All these things will also give you at least 20 more BHP ;). Just be careful not to get into chav territory. I have one too, I'm just going to respray my current alloys for a two tone look, put some red alloy protectors and spray the calipers red.

Hi everyone i myself have 07 plate grande punto 1.3 bought a month or so ago and wanted to add alloys but have no idea what to look for in size width etc
Will going upto 17" affect the ride, speedo or other aspects
Thanks
