500 James Blu 1.2 lounge (update)

Introduction

I'm posting again in order to start a brand new topic, with related only posts and many many pictures. :)

Just for your info i collected the car last Thursday and i just love it. :)

Even my bf has started loving it :D

I took these pictures today on my way to the dealership for the installation of the parking sensors.

For all of those who are not aware of the car's specs are the following:

Skydome roof
Rubber strips with 500 badge
Climate control
16" multi spoked alloys
Leather gear knob

Enjoy :)

:spin:
Lovely lovely as all the volare blues are :D I regreted not getting the leather gear knob as an option and your pics have just reminded me Chris :) Maybe I'll ask my OH for it for my birthday - and make him fit it for me too, hahaha.

Hey Chrislida, nice car!
How do the 16 inch wheels feel on the Greek roads?
Be careful not to scratch them!
When I see scratched rims on beautiful cars i feel like crying!

:yeahthat:
I would second that.
Park a mile out from the kerb and push the mirrors in.
Noticed that you have the Conti Contact 2 tyres. Very nice tyres and I have found that they give a surprisingly comfortable ride plus extra braking power than the smaller wheels. They look the business.(y)

LOL, probably it's a bird lol.

In general i'm really careful when parking and due to its size i'm able to not park that close to the pavement and still be ok.

The 16" wheels are just great, i'm able to make a comparison between 15" and 16" and what i feel is the car being more steady. :)

I'm aware of these tyres because my beetle had the same, i didn't ask for them but i was surprised when i noticed that my 500 has the same.

No joke!
As a result no scratches on the rims! Some friends would ask why i park 'so far from the kerb'. I assume they think that the closer you park to the kerb the 'more macho' you are, in the same sense that the darker your tinted windows, the more 'gangster' you are if you catch my drift.
Yeah Conti 2's are decent but i want to try others, I am thinking Nokians!
So i guess i was wrong to get the 15s instead of the 16s thinking they would be too harsh on the holes in the middle of the road, oh well!

Actually i cannot tell a difference in terms of harshness but even if they are (and I'm not able to figure it out) it doesn't matter because you feel the car being more steady and turn better.

Does someone drive 'on the limit'? = )

Oh yes and not only in Attiki. So.. general in Greece i'm aware of those at a big part of the Νational road.
About Attiki, i'm aware of those at Attiki odos, Mesogeion ave. , Marathonos ave. and Katexaki ave. There are more but i'm not aware of.

You mean police moving radars right? Attiki odos is where i test my car for speed runs max i went was 195 kmh on the 1.4 i usually dont exceed 160 and normally go about 140 no need to go so fast.
So if you want to see how your car goes take it to Attiki odos its the safest road in Greece.
I have never seen a radar in Greece with me driving, must be my luck or there arent that many around. They are more worried about taking numberplates of cars for bad parking from what i see these days!

No i'm not talking about policemen moving with radars, I'm talking about speed radards placed in many places across the road. Probably you're lucky even if they are many ! Don't ever again test your car at Attiki odos. The speed ticket (running over 30 km than limit) comes to your place after 3 or 5 months, the fine is around 730 euros and you also give your driving license for two months. My boyfriend had got 2 tickets because of the speed radars, since then we have spotted where they are at Marathonos ave. and we are really careful. Rumors say that they flash only over 110 km/hour but i don't know if its true. In Attikis odos most of them are placed in the tunnels. :) On my way to Katexaki i have managed to spot most of them but still not all.
From now on please be careful and stop running! Moreover, there are many at Markopoulou ave. and Varis Koropiou ave

This is how it looks :) Most of the had been installed back in 2009.

Ohhh ok speed cameras! Well I have a British Licence so i dont think they can put points on my licence unless they stop me personally and confiscate it, and to be stopped by them you must be doing something really stupid like zig zagging, overtaking on the inside, or the typical gangster wanna be driving that i see on the roads. I hope they get caught more! Regarding fines, I still havent recieved my year old parking fines in the mail, I guess they arent efficicent in sending the fines to my place = ). I dont drive that fast anyway for safety reasons not because the law tells me to, besides with so much traffic everywhere no reason! I will let you know if i recieve any fines for my attiki odos testing!

P.S. the tunnel is a stupid place to put them because no one goes fast in the tunnel anyway!

I asked a colleague, unfortunately they can still take your license for two months in case you receive the fine. (not any point though). In Attikis odos tunnels i haven't noticed anyone reducing speed :p lol.
