Bravo Bravo Abarth Conversion.

Introduction

I always thought that the Bravo is such a beautiful car and would look amazing in Abarth livery. So I set out on this project which I have really enjoyed doing. I also really love the hidden exhausts rather than the twin pipes on the back also which is why I have no plans to change the back end of the box. Currently Running at a "restricted" 175BHP and 209ft/lb of torque, it currently has more torque than the 695 Tribute 500!

So i've slowly been doing work to my Bravo over the last 1.5years! Thought it was finally time to post up whats been done and get some opinions! Won't be for everyone but welcome all opinions! :D

So I started with my 150 T-Jet below (as standard)

So my first modification was Hid's which were 4300k's:

Then I got my GSR installed and remapped:

I have some restrictive problems with my Cat on the exhaust, which is backing up my exhaust so my power is flat-lining higher up. This will be sorted in the next couple of months. It's plenty fast enough at the moment.

Next I got my Abarth badges and Alloy wheels for my car:

Afterwards I made a new Abarth Key in the new style:

And I got a new engine cover and set of car mats to go with it:

And finally, replaced my steering wheel with a new one from a 500 Abarth:

When I finally get my new Exhaust parts I can also fit my Esseesse boost sensors to regulate the boost better too:

So with that completed so far, some further modifications include:
-New downpipe with sport cat from TMC and Esseesse boost sensors
-Grande Punto Abarth Seats
-Maybe some new Springs and Dampeners
-New Brakes/Tyres

Thanks For Looking! :D
Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

Nice one! I paid £70 for mine and drove 200 miles to pick it up lol. You won't be dissapointed ;) makes the back look so much more complete. And it made mine sound a little better too ^_^

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

Looking good LeighJet !

I also have made some Abarth mods for my Bravo, despite the Dynamic
status & the colour my car has.
- Supersprint Cat Back 1 x 2 exhaust
- Pro-Kit - 30.mm
- Biscione rear spoiler
- Red brake calipers
- Ferodo racing/ street pads & InterCar racing discs
- 17" Brock B21 wheels
- Abarth badges - the front & rear
also I have the Abarth side badges, but slightly up from the side
indicators.
- The front grille a la honeycomb

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

hello LeighJet150. how much did you pay for the gsr induction kit alltogether includin the installation charges and also how much for the rest of the stuff like the badges n engine cover. I have already seen the abarth steerin wheel before i think thats around £450. Please get back to me as soon as possible

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

Thanks!

Steering wheel went straight on, no modification required, and its a 500 steering wheel not a GP one! it is very similar in power current Abarth's and seems to be able to get a loada torque for a petrol engine.

i take it the new wheel still operates all of the controls on the bravo as the old one?

i seriously want one of these when i get a bravo:slayer:

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

I've bought an 500 Abarth steering wheel. But ....
It didn't fit.
I could install the steering wheel, itself, but it was touching the shroud.
Bigger problem was, that bravo steering wheel switches (navi) wires were short to install to the abarth steering wheel.
The biggest problem was the different airbag connectors. At this point I gave up, I reinstalled the bravo steering wheel and sold the abarth steering wheel.

I think, it depends from MFD. Mine is 03/2008.

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

So LeighJet150, how did you fix the 500 Abarth steering wheel?

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

On My 150 it was a straight swap. I had seperate airbag wires which is the same on the 500. I didnt ned any mounts or nothing literally fitted straight on. My was built around 07/2007

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

ooops,we could do with this matter clearing up before anyone else invests in one.......

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

Well you have to take the airbag off your steering wheel and see how many airbag connectors you have, nothing else lol then you know if it will straight fit.

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

Yes they all have them. It's just there is 2 types of connectors, depending on the models it seems. Mine has 2 seperated connects. But others have the same connector joined together so it won't fit the w seperated sockets.

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

Steering wheel is the same size, feels much nicer though, still loving it!

Next on the list is the wing mirror caps, side decals and bonet decal. Going back to get my car remapped tweaked with my new boost sensors on the 25 of this month, so will have a new RR to show!

At Christmas it will be springs and brakes being replaced, so still got plans. Still waiting for a set of seats though, going to be a long wait! Will have updates next week! So keep watching!

Re: Bravo Abarth Conversion

I'm suprised I haven't seen this around Peterborough.

I've Abarthed mine, tell you what though, loving the steering wheel, was it a straight swap, do all the gizmos still work, how much did it cost?

Cheers.
