Cinquecento Cinqucento Sporting project.

Introduction

My project, a Cinquecento Sporting that will hopefully slowly and cheaply turn into a track day car... Seems a solid car with no obvious rust, a few dents and scrapes but otherwise a good base.

Only mod so far is a FIAT Forum sticker but I don't think it worked...

Lot's of ideas, first is a yellow and black theme.

Re: Cinqucento Sporting project

Sounds good. You do know youve left the backing on the sticker dont you.

What are the first plans then. :D

Thought that, but when I tried to pull the backing off the letters were coming off as well, will try again tomorrow.

First plans are to get it cleaned and thoroughly check it over, then make sure brakes are at their best. Need to check the windows and central locking so a door strip down and reassemble is needed. Then change the red inserts in the bumpers to yellow.

Need to change discs and pads on the Discovery first.

Re: Cinqucento Sporting project

If you rub a coin or similar over the backing it should make them stick better. Peel off bit by bit and any letters that start to come away with paper go over again with the coin.

Would check for rust on the fuel tank and around the rear inner arches while checking over it all. (y)

Re: Cinqucento Sporting project

Well daughter has decided that Cinquecento is better than a bus pass so any mods are on hold until she gives it back to me. In the meantime I can do the general maintenance things that need doing (e.g. rear hubs). Also sort out garage, build new shed to take stuff from garage, so it can live there.

Looks like it's got a new fuel tank and that somebody has done some work on it recently, new handbrake springs etc.

First modifications, nothing spectacular.

Clear (smoked) side repeaters, eBay specials looks better then orange. De-badged rear (OK I like the Abarth badge), FIATforum sticker sorted and BLONDIE sticker courtesy of current driver
