Bravo (Classic) the budget bravo.

Introduction

well, here it is! £86 off ebay :D

90k miles, 17" TSW alloys, Uprated springs and shocks, Exhaust system, induction kit, tinted windows, DVD player, New brakes all round....

so far ive ripped out a cheap crap allarm system, thrown the DVD player away, realised that the exhaust isnt attatched to the cat properly, the rear lights have been badly tinted so im cleaning that poxy rubbish off and fixed the induction kit on properly because duck tape and cable ties dont work too well :bang:

Ive got a few plans for it and i'll keep the pics coming as i do the work...

Re: the budget bravo

Welcome to the forum lew.

Well done on the bargain purchase! The body looks great, I cant even see any dings in the pics.

Is this fuel pipe alright? They both seem to be missing hose clip but I could be wrong ive not seen much of the 1.6 in person and all my photos are just not showing that area well .

Re: the budget bravo

thanks for the reply and talk about eagle eyed! that fuel pipe is damp, the black sleeve is pulled back in that pic because i was checking it. im not sure if theres meant to be a circlip on there because they seem to be pressed pipes and ive checked that the connections are all tight but i could really do with an engine bay picture of someone elses 1.6 engine bay. the body is very straight with only a few little dings but no ruse or creases.

Re: the budget bravo

£86?!?! I'll buy it for £150 ;)

Great find there mate. Body looks spotless and looks good on those alloys. Get some polys on it with some white HID's and sidelights and it will really finish it off. If you can get some leather seats from the HGT in it too :p

Good luck with it!

Re: the budget bravo

im rather jealous, yet i have the same car :p...but im amazed that theres no dents in the wings :O shock horror...normally a see most cheap bravos for sale, they always seem to have a massive dent in the wing :/...you are one lucky person to get a bravo in such good shape :) as above ^^ get some polys a HIDS and LED sidelights, and should nicely finish the front off on it :)

Re: the budget bravo

im planning on getting a set of polys and HID's soon, then im going to source a HGT front bumper and get a subtle set of side skirts. ive got to refurb the alloys not decided on a colour yet but we'll see.

Inside i desperately need a set of seats, these standard ones are terrible! and also i miss the armrest i had in the middle of the beemer so with any luck i can find a decent marea centre console with armrest.

Ive never given a bravo a second thought but since owning this one i think theyre brilliant! a so called freind of mine was on here a few years ago with his 20v marea... im really imressed with this forum already :)

Here is a photo of coupe seats in a Bravo. Im not sure how much work is involved. I seem to remember the guy said fronts straight fit rears needed modification.

These are Alfa. dont know about the modifications needed

i dont know what these are

This is one of the best ive seen. Mitsubishi Evo seats. even though the Evo is a 5 door it still has tilt.

Dont forget about the MOT rules you need to be able to get out of the back seats.

bit of an update, the cars going strong and sounding great :)
got a new pair of mirrors off ebay for 99p, DTM ones because i think the shape of them will suit the shape of the side on the bravo. fitted a new gearnob i had laying around in the shed and next im going to concentrate on the awful poxy seats!!! pics to come soon once ive refurbed the wheels and fitted the new mirrors

right, i had a god awful smell in the boot. smelt really musty. i had a rettle too so i took the carpet, the empty tool kit and the spare out....
it was full of tree cuttings  so that was the nasty smell sorted and the rattke was because the spare wasnt bolted down and the jack, towing eye and the jack handle was loose too. rattle solved (y)

because the rear wiper was snapped off ive decided to remove the motor and blank the hole off. easiest job ive done on it so far :D

while i had the carpets out cleaning i took the rest of the cheapy allarm out. ive never seen so much useless wire lol

Next on the list is to refurb the alloys. think that'll be sundays job.

Colour ideas for the rims?
