Punto (Mk2/2b) PuntoDudes beast.

Introduction

Here is my 2000 1.2 8v ELX Punto. Bought for £600 off an old biddy. 2 previous owners.

So far:
Fox racing 15" alloys.
6x9's on rear shelf
part de-badged
xenon bulbs

Future:
induction kit
exhaust
3dr colour coded bumper on front and 5dr color coded on rear (maybe a bodykit in the further future)
tint windows
mk2b rear lights

any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :D
Re: PuntoDudes beast

colour code everything including wing mirrors and door handles
get smoked side indicators (only 5 quid off ebay)
get ur alloys sprayed black ( with red bolts and red centre caps)
tint your rear windows black
dont get mk2b rear lights keep yours but buy tint spray for them and give them a good 2 coats (keeping it legal) use a youtube guide to show u how

personally iv looked at alot of stock black puntos and the ones that have come off best (in my mind) are the ones that are all black on black everything with hints of red in some places like i said in the centre caps on ur wheels etc.

then maby try think of somthing else to make yours stand out from the croud, if u have the money try abarth side skirts or somthing

exhausts are always a good idea for a boy racer but they dont look to good on puntos unless you spend alot of money on a aftermarket one thats designed for your modle car, keep it simple and cheap and it wont look cheap if u do a good job! (y)

hope this helps mate.

Re: PuntoDudes beast

EDIT: after looking at the alloys again they do look nice maby keep them how they are and just add the red bolts and centre caps :)

Re: PuntoDudes beast

Thanks mate.
I like the alloys as they are really, so yeah i prefer your idea of red caps and bolts. But the rest of the ideas are brilliant. :D Cant wait to get stuck in.

Re: PuntoDudes beast

Re: PuntoDudes beast

also i was thinking , maby you should try removing the side strips (if you can on this modle) i think there just glued on, im doing mine 2moro seen as i got a day off work ty future king of england ;p the less plastic the better (y)

Re: PuntoDudes beast

Ah the bump strips? They come off the same way as the badges right? Heat em up with a hairdryer, peel off, and polish like mad?

Re: PuntoDudes beast

I have an induction kit on the way

and yeah i think then that the next step is getting rid of those cursed bump strips, next day off il be out there weilding a hairdryer! "Say hello to my lil friend"

Re: PuntoDudes beast

For tinting the rear lights, i know i need the savage spray. but will any lacquer do:? or is there a special type? and will i need to sand the lenses lightly with some grade paper?

also, are you telling your insurance about your induction kit? , mine wanted 200 quid more a year just for having a GSR l0l ?

Re: PuntoDudes beast

for tiniting rear lights.. i advise not to use any chemicals and it could react to the tinting solution.. no real need to sand them down... as for laquer just use normal clear laquer :) oh and clean the lights with kitchen towel and water just get the kitchen towel damp and it will do fine :)

Re: PuntoDudes beast

Thanks, and its the shiny effect that im after.
Another question, but is the silencer on the centre pipe of the exhaust necessary? Does it have to be there?

Re: PuntoDudes beast

most tint sprays have a gloss finish anyways, just apply a thicker final coat.... but not too thick that u make it too dark, create runs etc and make sure u do it somewhere warm, dry, and dust/wind free for best results.... if u do it when its cold, it will go cloudy and look crap.

i dont think u need the center silencer, plenty of people have fitted straight through pipes.
