Re: PuntoDudes beast

Is it beneficial to get rid of it? Increased noise or something?

tbh its a bummer but your to young to start doing major mods to inprove proformance , i cant even have a gsr in mine without it costing 200 quid more a year, id just stick to making your car look nice , puntos arnt ment to be cars than can rival m5s there great on petrol and good little nippy cars , if i was you id keep it that way and just make it look nice(y)

why did you install this if your insurance company would not even quote you for a induction kit , if your tier bursts and you kill someone your gonna get put away forever , theres a reason for why they wouldnt even quote you on an induction kit at ur age mate. dont say i didnt warn

here we go,my personal views are that you should do this:

-get colour coded rear bumper 5 door
-colour coded front bumper 3 door
-remove bump strips
-colour code bumpers bump strips when you get them
-paint your brake drums black
-paint your callipers(enter choosen colour scheme here)
-lower 50mm on lo suspension springs(or coilovers if you have the bank)
-get mk2b rear lights(look lovely on black puntos)
-remove rear wiper and gromet it
-colour code mirrors and door handles
-dont tint windows(i think looks **** on black puntos personally)
-also if the five doors have that bin bag affect thing on the upper bit of the doors remove that by peeling it off to.

theres my 2 cents,if you wanna do any of them and need to ask anything about doing them,im on here most days gimme a add :D

Got round to smooth siding the punto today, but it took so long that i only got the left side done :p Will have to attempt the other side on my next day off. :D

Your insurance company did not quote you for a kit. Ok.

You phoned them and basically told them you were going to fit one, and can they quote you. They said no. They have the conversation recorded, and will have written down that you may be fitting an induction kit. They have people who peruse forums, will search out information and track down people through emails and pictures with reg plates etc. If you are involved in an accident, it will all come out. You may as well be driving without insurance, I can guarantee it is invalid already.

People like you are the reason premiums are so high for the rest of us, the day you have a crash you are another statistic, adding to young male drivers, invalid insurance.

Come on, what is the point in insurance if you're just going to lie?

thank you! another onest driver

Dont start chucking the blame my way, im a right wuss driver, i dont speed or drive stupidly or anything. It wont be on there long, ive realised its ruined my fuel economy anyway. :D

Realistically, not a lot. Anything that increases or decreases performance should be informed. New exhaust, definitely, induction kit, definitely, and anything inside the car that is attractive to steal will not be covered (unless you have contents coverage) unless you tell them.

I have heard of them to make an example of people with stickers, who they say have been provoked to damage the vehicle by the stickers.

So, not a lot. front grill, side repeaters, remove bump strips, none of that needs declaring I shouldn't think.

well tbh you are to blame if your installing things on your car that you havnt informed your insurance about there for making your car not legal to be on the road who else would be to blame? they didnt even price you on ur induction kit because they wont insure you for having one lol its not because there lazy or cba working out a price for you. lifes a bitch at 18, just stick to doing things that make your car look nice , not increase its power.

at 18 years old your aim is to get from A too B and if you get from A too B looking good in your car then uv cracked it, keep the mods for when u have a few years no claims and are a more experienced driver.

personally you see these guys installing the kind of things u see in 30 grand rally cars like dump valvs and turbos and intercoolers , yeah ok its cool to watch some1 do these things over the internet, but if i knew a guy who did that to a stock mk2 punto id think he was a **** lol just buy a faster car n dont waste ur money.

i no how u feel about not been able to do stuff beleive me, its anoying little things like induction kits and lowering are hard to get insured on cheaply at our age but trust me ull get over it cos i did, jus have fun with what u have thats legal and safe and be proud of a car u changed from stock to what it is now and it looks how u want it, dont worry about the chav next to you at the lights in a VXR cos ur never gonna catch him in a punto mk2 ;p

Totally agree there, Im 19 been driving 2 years and now with 2 years ncb and im gonna be paying nearly a grand for a mk2 punto sporting with induction, exhaust, lowering and tints and about £800 without mods. Now if i had tried that even a year ago it would have been about £1800 and tbh theres nothing you can legally do to get it down much so like butcher said, just spend a couple of years looking after your car, getting regular services, touching up any paintwork that you think needs attention or just saving up for when you can afford major mods like exhausts and what not. and yeah dont worry about the chavs, they will probably spin out on the first corner because they were "showin off 2 da birds" lol

i does need declaring!!!! ANY changes (not including standard servicing parts like spark plugs, stock air filters etc) that are not factory fitted (or removed) have to be declared. the above listed mods shouldnt add to the premiums but still need to be declared to the insurance companys.

the rule is, no matter how ****in stupid u feel asking ur insurance company if u can change a fukin light bulb in ur car (examplelol) just tell them , in some cases you can change ur frount seats to sport seats and they will raise it because it looks like you have means of going faster because you installed sport raceing seats. its dumb but happens, the last thing you want is to be pulled over just cos u have a light out and them finding aload of **** that you havnt decleared you have, and ur car getting crushed, i have a debadged grill and told them even tho its no different, i just said i had a crack in my stock one and got a replacment, they still asked me what website i got it off n ****, its weird but just tell them everything and get a quote on everything before you spend your money on things for ur car then find you cant have them installed, its just not worth the risk.

I fecking hate insurance companies!

So do i even have to declare that i bought a couple of higher powered bulbs because the standards were rubbish? Ive declared my alloys, cost me a extra £25.

Couldn't agree more. Why buy a £2k car, then spend £2k pimping it to the equivalent of a £2300 car. Just buy a £4k car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Or, get a fast car to start with... :p

no i was jokeing about the bulbs mate just an example. dont get too down about it bud , its **** but if u let it anoy you , you wont enjoy your time driveing, been 18 and driving around with ur m8s is 1 of best times off you life dont let the goverment and isurance companys get u down there not worth it
