850 Is this a good idea for a car!?!? Fiat 850. $150

Introduction

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some help. I was looking on cragislist and stumbled across a cool old FIAT 850 for $150. I know what most of your thinking but it wont be a parts car as I do not have a fiat already. I was thinking of restoring it or getting it running to use as a summer car. Here's the info the guy put on the add.

"Fiat 850 in rough condition. Engine removed and disassembled. Some parts could be missing. Gearbox supposed to be good. Car had heating problem and blew the head gasket. Hood is rusted at the front which is normal on an 850. Floor has rust but is repairable. Drivers seat has become gone. Windshield has a small rock chip at the top center. Doors appear ok. I have an open SD title somewhere. If someone is interested I will need a couple of days advance notice to move the car. I would of course require a small deposit before I would even think about it. Several cars would have to be moved before this car could be removed. I also have 13 Fiat 124 Spiders available but not in this price range."

So my question is would this be a good fixie? What do you guys think is the minimum price to get it up and goin. It doesnt say much on the add about the engine so i would put the 4cyl rebuilt engine (from my 1973 MGB GT) into it if the Fiats engine couldn't be salvaged. Pictures are attached. It is a 8 hour round trip to ge there and back (not to mention the time to load it onto the flat bed) so i was wondering if it was worth it. So thanks for the help everyone.:D
i reckon if you have enough money/time to restore it then i dont see why not, it would look good as a summer car and probably a good project to get stuck into. If you do get it be sure to keep us updated with everything you get done (y) and also, welcome to the forum :)

Thanks buddy! The thing is I'm kinda new to the fiat business so if I decide to get it I hope it works out well. So I'm just gonna leave this one to chance and see if i can get that project going. Hope it's worth it and not junk:bang:.
