Panda Midget4hire's Panda 100HP.

Introduction

As the punto has gone I had to look for a new car, with my job depending on having a car it had to be decided fairly quickly. I spent a day or so looking around online and the suggesstion of a panda 100hp was thrown in.
I made a quick call to the insurance company to see what it would cost. Luckily enough, even though its the same engine size and power its 3 insurance groups lower than the punto. So it hasnt cost much to change it over.

I collected the car on Saturday morning from Chesterfield
A few pics of it as it stands now

Hi,

I've spent quite abit of time looking at this, it's hard to find anything at first but you do have options, however as with everything with the 100hp not alot of people have made changes so theres not a lot of info around as to what works well. various spring options are available and both FK and Koni do dampers (the konis adjustable) and KW do coilovers.

You want to be looking at venom motorsport's website, they appear to do the widest range for the panda, it would seem the kw coilovers are pretty good, and will give you improved handling with little roll as well as a slightly more compliant ride, and are also height adjustable, but at over £700 they are not cheap.

If you were looking at just springs then eibach, KW, FK, Spax and more do kits. I've decided on the FK Dampers with KW springs (100HP specific rather than just panda 169) which comes in at under £300, however i've got a few other bits to do yet so not sure when i'll be getting them.

If you liked the Bilstein/Eibach combo then this is still possible, Gazella racing sell Bilstein B4's from memory and as above eibach do offer springs for the panda.

Yeah but your old :nerner:

AND haven't just had an accident ;)

I have induction, exhaust and suspension declared on my insurance anyway. so it wont cost me any extra, unless i have to switch insurers when my renewal is due

I have GSR and exhaust, 2 out of 3, and insurance is fine - plus lowering declared as well.

What chris said :p

I looked at the bilstein B4's and they are pretty much just a replacement for standard. not sure if they would make much of a difference. but having said that, if i am to upgrade them i think it will be the B4's and the eibach pro kit

I cant really afford to be paying £700 for coilovers right now and im sure the bilstein/eibach setup will be a decent upgrade

Re: Midget4hire's Panda 100HP

i couldnt find one at the time :p
I found a sticker of a panda that would have fit in its place, it looks like it leaning out of the back window. didnt bother getting it though. this will stay for now, even though the dealership have managed to make it peal a little

after the dealership have "fixed" the issues i reported, the car still makes a terrible noise when braking in reverse :/

Re: Midget4hire's Panda 100HP

When you do servicing make sure you get the right plugs. The reason for mine being down on power was the wrong plugs sold to be by shop4parts .

Took it in for a service at my local fiat specialist (Quicksale Performance) only to get a phone call saying the plugs are the wrong ones and the right one's have a slightly different part code and are iridium and are £10 a plug .

Since changing them it's made a REAL difference :yum: :slayer:
