500 TwinAir Sport

Introduction

Wasn't sure whether to add my new car to the Members Motors section as it looks identical to my old 500 Diesel, the only differences, apart from the engine are Leather and Interscope. Still, as I've taken some photos it would be rude not to share, lol. (y)

Collection day 08/01/2011 (sorry for quality but wife took it with phone)

Just washed.

Leather, aaah! Don't you just love the smell.

Bad design? Can you see the marks left in the rear seat facings by the seat belt fixings after they have been lowered?

Nothing really to say but as maxi is always showing off his red leather seats I thought I would as well,

Another just washed picture, pity I forgot to dry the wheels before taking the picture.

Another, just because I can, photos.

As you can see, tales of the poor fuel consumption are true. Just need to wait until the engine has a couple of thousand miles under it's belt to see if there are any realistic improvements.

BLUE&ME TomTom fitted to dashboard dock.

I saw this and had to pop the bonnet to check, lol.

Phew! No Pandas living in here,

Even better rear end than J Lo or Kylie.

Ready for the weekly shopping trip.
It's really strange, if you use a light throttle, just above tickover, for a short time then when you go to put your foot down to accelerate there is just nothing there until you rev it a few times and then it picks up.

It feels as if the plugs have fouled up.

Not turbo lag is it? (Turbine slowing down when idling and then taking a while to spin up) A loose hose/joint perhaps?

Doesn't seem to be as I have had several turbo cars, I only got lag if I wanted to accelerate quickly from low RPM. This is happening mainly as I am reversing up the drive at tickover revs, if I stop and then try to carry on the accelerator doesn't do anything so I rev it and it eventually responds. It's like when your computer goes into "sleep" mode, lol.

Nice pics!! (y)

Hopefully I will have some to post soon........:p

Looking forward to hearing about your experiences on the forum. (y)

Are you by any chance reversing uphill & does your 500 have “Hillholder”?
I’ve heard of a few people having issues with the “hillholder” where when it engages they have to give it a few revs to get it to release properly!

Do you have a new thread for the Abarth? :) I want to see it!

Yeah me too :p

Not yet! I've uploaded a few pictures to the gallery and if you can't wait just click on my name above the avatar and click on "view my photo gallery." Hopefully I'll get some better ones soon with a proper camera and then do a members motors thread as well.

Thanks for the interest. (y)

I didn't buy this one new but was lucky enough to get a very low mileage one with most of the extras that I would have added so I am pleased with my choice, I just wish I had gone straight to the Abarth from the Diesel, bypassing the TwinAir completely as it would have saved me a few thousand quid.
