Hey

After being a member for so long and not making a thread, I thought it was about time I finally made a thread about my mk2 Punto in metallic green.

I bought the car in august/september time last year for £350, it's a 2001 1.2 8v active

I bought the car with a broken headgasket, my dad was a mechanic for fiat and happened to have a brand new 8v engine for some reason, so one new engine later and it's good to go

I was 16 when I bought the car, and only passed my test a month ago, so I've had long enough to start modifying the car.

So far my mods are:
Colour coded bumpers
Colour coded mirrors
Sporting alloys
Abarth spoiler
Abarth center caps
Alfa 147 steering wheel/airbag
Custom exhaust (old exhaust had rusted away, and a fiat one was the same price as a custom one, so it was a good excuse (y))
Window tints
Rear speakers
Subwoofer
Sony headunit
And a new badge at the front in red :D

Mod's to do;
Matching red badge for the back
De-badge
Italian stripe (which is being done on monday)
Sporting seats
Upgraded front speakers
New Dials with the rev counter and temp gauge

Here is how she looked when I bought her (in a sorry state)

April 2010;

Sorry for the quality of some of these photo's, I'll add the latest photo's soon, haven't had change to put them on my computer yet.

Mark

The front badge you've put on... Is it the Abarth one?
And if it is, where did you get it from?
Thanks, btw great mods so far mate (Y)

Here's a couple of older photo's, the 147 steering wheel, and my attempt at trying to get an arty shot of my back light but it didn't really work taking that picture on my iphone haha

Nice looking motor you have there!:)

Liking the steering wheel, how much did you get it for and how easy was it to fit?

Thanks mate, an it's easy to fit - a straight swap with the punto one. The airbag light does come one occasionally when I brake for a split second

My dad worked for a fiat and alfa garage, and as we've had a couple of alfa's over the years, he happened to have this one floating around the garage, it was brand new other than a layer of dust haha, so it didn't cost me anything :D. Think they usually go for around £100 on ebay though.

Well, been hit by a bit o' bad luck lately, on the way back from blackpool the other week the ecu went, 90 miles from home. Got that sorted, and yesterday the alternator belt snapped off, which has knocked the cambelt out. Parts should be here tomorrow hopefully then they can be fitted.

At college someone hit my mirror too, taking the paint off and leaving a yellow mark, and now obviously needs to be repainted (n)

Also, I have a new subwoofer, a 12" infinity sub which my neighbour gave me for free

Will also be putting a new red fiat badge on the back to match the front. But not sure whether to put it where the punto badge is, or the old fiat badge

any update on the car buddy :)

Yep, I've got some sporting clocks in now, still got to get them proxy alligned, but I think there is something wrong with them, as in if i turn the car on with the total mileage, it resets itself about 5 times, could this be because it isn't proxy alligned yet? As if i start it on mpg or on the trip computer for example its fine

And I've also bought a HGT interior, which should be delivered soon (y)

Will post picture's soon

Hey guys, small update, got the HGT interior in my car now, will post some pictures of that once i get the seats cleaned

Heres a few pictures from a punto meet today in wolverhampton (y)

Haha, yeah cheers brin :p

by the way, anyone had any experience with the plasma dial kit for the punto? i like how they look, but i dont fancy spending £50 on it if they are crap

Looks really good, this is similar to what I want mine to look like in the end :D
I've seen another one driving around couple of times, same colour but no flag, in Wolverhampton.
Any recent updates on yours?

Thanks, could've been mine stripes are gone now, spent a while driving round wolverhampton for my motorbike lessons. Only other update really is the alfa 147 seats are finally in, havent got any good pictures of them though.

May be the last update for this car, bought myself a 147 in august with a snapped cambelt. Hopefully insurance won't be a killer

Looking good from what it started mate.
Much were you to change to the colour coded bumpers and did you have to get them sprayed?
Ryan

Well the punto has been parked up and insurance swapped over to my 147. Not sure what to do with it now though

Thanks, the car has completely transformed from what it was when I got it. As for the colour coding, a family friend painted the bumpers, mirrors and the spoiler for me for free :D

Absolutely love the red interior!

Thank you, I was too embarrassed to show the picture of the red seats with the blue door cards still...

It's been a good couple of years, however the car has now been sold as I have my Alfa 147 on the road (I'm still in an Italian motor) . It has served me well as my first car, have owned it for 3.5 years now!

The car is been collected tomorrow, and I am sad to see it go, and I hope they will appreciate the car as much as I have.

All the best and thanks for all the help from this forum
