back in 12/10/07 Matthew gave me this car , as he could not affored to run the turbo and this one on the road at the same time + it gave me a car to learn in so the 15" alloys came off and l plates stuck in
and it looked like this

got the test past and then the modifications started comeing a bit faster , our friend was scrapping a sei abarth so we took that off him and thats where i got my sei abarth seats from

now the Center console is not wrapped in tape like it is in the pics :D.

then we put the abrath seats in the frount,
I bought a Bmc Cda off Brooky ( ff and cc) and it came with some sillicone hose and a Shiny bob

Thanks for the comment
yes im still running Spi , as of when the engine went in it was the easyest and quickest way if getting it running , Still useing the 899 loom , this conversion has been done atleast 4-5 years
Mpi is for the futuure upgrades tho

quite a few people keep telling me to cc the bumpers , but i like them black as it supprises more people

looks really nice, im going for the same look and it cheesed me off seeing yours :p stay with the plastic bumpers as the look the part IMO

did you just make the arch covers up from scratch or modified some others ?

Ash

beleve me there is a big difference between spi and mpi, when i first put my second 1108 engine in with the chipped ecu and 866 and 40mm TB and a few other tricks (dyno'd at 80.9hp) with spi it was quick but lacked the torque i now have with a stock 1242 mpi

yeah i agree keep the black bumpers lol, oh and i too love the arch projectors, were they difficult to make and get fitting sooooo well????

FYI, the stock 1242 SPi (Punto 60) lump has about a 33% increase in torque over a standard SPi 1108. There's where the main difference lies; the 1242 is essentially a stroked 1108, hence more torquier.

this i am aware of and ok yeah a stock 1242spi is better than a stock 1108 but the point i was trying to make and got totally wrong lol is that surely a stock 1242mpi is better than a tuned 1242spi?????

from what i have learned and read up on that the mpi head has bigger and better valves over spi plus biggier TB iirc, if if the OP idea is to go mpi at some point then he will be able to tell use better than most which he thinks is better lol

hmmmmmm i may have to go to newcastle via carlisle lol

maybe he did it a while ago and its alot easier to source part, also you can run a 1108/1242 spi on a 899 ecu

if OP was to go for a mpi set up a 16v engine would be easier and cheaper to get more power out then a 8v engine

As young James said, this conversion was done several years ago when his brother owned it.

If you had a sorted 1108 there is the case for the SPi 1242; you can build an engine which would be bang on for a road lump IMO using the trick parts from the 1108.

If you were starting from scratch with a standard 1108 and all out tuning/FI was on the cards, then the MPi would be the better starting point. The standard SPi injector is reaching full duty cycle at 80 odd bhp anyway.

What I took issue with was that you implied that the difference in performance between your 1108 and your 1242 was the fact that the 1242 has an MPi system. That IMO, is the minor advantage; the extra stroke of the larger lump is the major advantage IME.

Thanks for all the info , were not new to the Cento cars :D i have owned this for 2 years now and my brother owned it for 3-4 Years before that,,

Atm we have 4 Cinqs in our hosehold 2 turbos , 2 1242`s ( one is running LPG)

And as i said i would like to go to mpi in the Future , i would also like to change all the bushes up front , which will be done soon aswell

Thanks to mario cinq...i collected some wishbones and rear arms off him , Fitted the wishbones with polybushes yesterday , made the car handle a substantle (SP) bit diffrently but ive still got the rears to fit so..

So plan of attack tomoz is turn Blue around.. reverse in to garage .. Jack up support on Axle stands... Take rear wheels off , strip calipers , remove capliper carriers .., take off wheel bearing , and then take off the rear arms ..
Paint up new Rear arms
paint up the rear Axle
Clear the Rear arches ready for welding
...paint up the arches
Paint the rear calipers
Fit new Rear arms
HopeFully get all that done tomoz

Will take plenty of pics
