Grande Punto DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet.

Introduction

Hi all,

After reading these forums for a while and posting the odd silly question here and there, I'm proud to say I finally own a T-Jet :D:D

Standard for now but I do have plans for it:

Looks

  • Tinted tail lights
  • Tinted/Abarth headlights
  • Black Mirrors
  • Black Alloys
Handling

  • Coilovers (Either JOM or FK AK)

Performance

  • Forge Induction
  • Forge Intercooler
  • Abarth Turbo
  • Some sort of custom exhaust

I'm open to suggestions though, if any of you have any ideas on what else/different to do to my car then feel free to let me know :)

Thanks for looking!

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

No I've been a bit lazy with those, hopefully soon I'll sort out which jubilee clips I need and get them bought, and then fit all the hoses and make my engine bay look awesome

You sold your T-Jet yet? Onto something new?

Lol lazy eh! Nah still got the t-jet for now, ive got my project im starting on now so its all good

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Got a nice Abarth gear knob from PuntoBooth :D

Also went and bought Cooks FK Badgeless grille off him! He gave a hand in pulling out the old grilles as well as they were a right pain! (y)

I think fly eyes for the front lights are next on the cards, not sure what else there is left to do to the car. (That won't cost me loads!)

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

looks good :) i'm going with fly eyes as well, gonna try em anyway. you already got them on the back?

& is it easy to replace the gear knob? i want a new one :p

oh and if you're looking for something new to do, i think you should colour code your wing mirrors, seein as theres nothing else really to match on the car. unless you're planning on spraying your wheels?

I've got Lamin-X on the back, was more expensive and a bit of a pain to do but I like it. I do however want the fly eyes on the front because they've got holes and won't block the light.

Gear knob is easy, as long as you've got enough strength to twist off the old one (mine was quite tight) it's easy.

The car came with colour coded wing mirrors, however I bought the black ones as I prefer them. I would quite like them in gloss black though instead of the matt finish they have now. I'm hoping they'll match a bit more when I get the fly eyes for the front, since I'm sort of going for a black/blue theme. I do plan on getting some black alloys at some point (probably pro race 1.2s) but money won't allow it just yet

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

yer, i would prefer lamin on the rears but it is quite a bit more expensive.

hmm, so can any aftermarket gear knob be fitted to it then?

ok fair enough, i did wonder why they were black lol. if you're gonna add more black then keep them :) definitely spray them gloss. i know what you mean about the money lol, same problem here.

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Pretty much any gear knob I reckon, twist off your current one and have a look, it's basically just a thread, which I believe is a standard fitment that most gear knobs come with. Check before you buy though of course (y)

Not sure how to go about spraying the mirrors, might just try rattle cans

alright cheers. spraying the mirrors is easy, unless you've not really had much experience with a spray can?

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

The gearknob looks cold, had an alloy one on my first car, dreaded touching it in the winter :)

Paint the mirrors something different, I like the alloys silver or white on a blue car, black is too close to blue IMO.

I do like the whole blue/white theme but I don't think it suits the GP very well, I prefer blue on black for it. On any other car though I prefer white, don't ask me why :bang:

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Yeh they just blend with the tyres too much.

I've got a new ms design spoiler, turbo and a few interior things recently, I'll need to save for an intercooler though.

Will be summer at earliest before I get everything done.
