Grande Punto DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet.

Introduction

Hi all,

After reading these forums for a while and posting the odd silly question here and there, I'm proud to say I finally own a T-Jet :D:D

Standard for now but I do have plans for it:

Looks

  • Tinted tail lights
  • Tinted/Abarth headlights
  • Black Mirrors
  • Black Alloys
Handling

  • Coilovers (Either JOM or FK AK)

Performance

  • Forge Induction
  • Forge Intercooler
  • Abarth Turbo
  • Some sort of custom exhaust

I'm open to suggestions though, if any of you have any ideas on what else/different to do to my car then feel free to let me know :)

Thanks for looking!
Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Sick one your car is coming a long very well :) whats it run like atm with the abarth turbo with no remap?

Thanks mate! It runs pretty decent, I could definitely feel the extra power kicking in when I first had the turbo done, but I haven't really been driving it very hard because I'm too worried about it possibly running lean, because of the standard map with non-standard parts. I'll be much more comfortable with it when I know everything is tuned to run right

Thats cool man, yeah I would be abit weary aswel. I can't wait to see what outputs you get :D you fitted the forge fmic yet?

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Got the car remapped today at PDTuning.

Ran 144bhp without the remap and 173bhp after it. Slightly lower than some of the T-Jets I've seen on here, but the graph is great, high figures right throughout the range. Also considering that shell were out of V-Power this morning and I had to put in the normal fuel
Oh and 240ftLb of torque :D

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Awesome dude, I would be more than happy with that :)

Yeah I definitely am, especially after comparing it to other graphs of remapped T-Jets, some of them may peak higher but I get a better average of HP throughout the range.
I'm still interested to know what it would run on V-Power though :D

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Did you fit the turbo and intercooler yourself?

How's it running now and what's the fuel consumption like?

Intercooler yes, turbo I tried but I almost took it apart instead of off so I gave up, not wanting to break anything and took it to a garage.

It runs brilliantly now, don't think I could go back to driving it standard :p Haven't checked the MPG really but I will do next time (y)

Bump up the premium much? Very tempted to do this as well.

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

I had one and sold it haha

I didn't think I would need more power, but I want more now.

Does it feel alot better now? hold boost for longer? or is there slightly more lag?

I'm hoping I won't feel that I need more power until I can get insured on something else! Otherwise I have much more work ahead of me :p

It feels so much better, it has definitely surprised me. I'm still meaning to install a boost gauge, but from what I can feel I'm pretty sure it holds the boost much longer, especially by the look of the graph as well. This is the first turbo car I've owned so I'm not too sure what the lag is like on others, but it's basically non existant, the 'kick' is delivered as soon as my foot requests it ;)

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Got a video of my exhaust sound today

Doesn't actually sound quite as loud as it is. I didn't take it over 5k RPM in the video out of respect for my neighbours.

Also quite pleased that I've been averaging over 35Mpg since the remap (y)

No I've been a bit lazy with those, hopefully soon I'll sort out which jubilee clips I need and get them bought, and then fit all the hoses and make my engine bay look awesome
