Bravo (Classic) 2001 Bravo - original

Introduction

Picked myself up a 2001 Bravo with 48k on the clock, FSH, astonishingly clean bodywork, leather steering wheel/gearknob, rear spoiler, alloys, no purple/blue seats :yuck:, original factory head unit, timing belt done 50 miles ago. Even came with original FIAT contoured mats.

The photos don't do it much justice and it needs a good wash, polish and wax. Heraldic Blue FTW :slayer:

Nicest Bravo I had seen out of 9. The only things which need doing was a battery which simply refused to charge even after a 100 mile drive, so called into Artane Autos and picked one up a Heavy Duty one for €50 fitted (bargain!). Needs an aerial and rear wiper and the electric sunroof is temperamental.

Some minor mods in the pipeline:

  • Fit JVC/Kenwood headunit and upgrade OEM speakers
  • Debadge the rear, maybe replace with new style Bravo badge
  • Fit Marea door handles.
  • Fit Marea centre console
  • Fit Marea poly headlights
  • Colour code bump strips
  • New backbox - still undecided.
  • Red callipers and black drums
  • Smoked rear lights
  • Smoked/Clear side indicators
  • Maybe some multispoke alloys. Maybe.
Will update this thread as it progresses.
Cheers, I wasn't sure of the spec, but it looked higher than the other ones I looked at. Really comfortable and supportive seats, not a fan of the height adjuster. The gearknob despite having only done 48k (verified) is worn quite badly, so I've the job of finding one of those (n)

Just tidying up the inside at the moment as somebody wrecked it removing a car kit - trim on n/s pillar kept falling down, head lining was rattling, and the radio kept popping out. All sorted now, apart from the radio just have to wait until tomorrow until I have money

That rubber mat is just a non-slip one I used to stop my phone sliding across the dash until I got a holder fitted. It's also great for putting a camera on if you want to do driving vids (y)

That car looks realy realy fimiliar.....
But what a lovely example! Quite a rarity to find a good one and thats just what youve done (y)

Hey, Fantastic car there. I guess its a 1.2 Trofeo edition looking at the gear stick and spoiler. You have the really rare seat cloth that says Bravo on the pattern.

I have the exact same seats retro fitted to my car, it did indeed come out of a Trofeo (altho here we never got the "Trofeo" sticker on the rear pillar as opposed to the UK market) and the previous owner burned a hole in one of the seats with a cig

I could never get the gearknob off the gearstick!!

Cheers. Needs some minor tidying but that's well underway. It's nice for a 9 year old motor.

Anyway, not done much to it. Bank account emptier, after taxing it for the year, 4 new tyres all around (Pirelli P6000 19550R15H on order), new brake pads and discs (still on originals ), front link arms, rear shocks & it's in dire straits for a full service & valet. Most bits on order from GSF, so I'm hoping to do everything at once...that's the plan atleast.

Still waiting on fascia to fit the new stereo (2 weeks now :bang:), fitted anti-theft beesting after some scroat stole the other one. New rear wiper will be fitted when I'm fixing the rear washer problem. Exhaust has started to blow from the the join at the backbox so will refit it tomorrow.

Most of the problems have been caused from it lying up for a couple months. The existing tyres have brand new thread, but the walls are cracking. Rear shoes need adjusting and it has the clutch sticking to the floor issue (only happened twice though...both when had to jam on :worship:

There's a few places around that can fix the holes, got a small hole fixed in the missus' car for €50.

I've been lucky, almost every car I've bought has never been smoked in, and I don't let anyone smoke in my car (unless they like walking...).
